Picked a different dress for the weddings...now style it!
Permalink Closed

I went back out today looking for a dress for the three weddings that I have coming up. I found a great one at Anthropologie and it fit great. The material is sort-of silky. 030013_072_b?$redesign-openLarger$

Now, the trick is to pick something to wear with it. I have pictured a boxy, cropped zebra print jacket/cardigan with black heels but I spent about four hours today looking for that jacket and as far as the stores in downtown Philadelphia are concerned, that doesn't exist. What else do you think could work? I was also thinking navy with a pair of animal print heels that I already own.

It's a very very cute dress, i love the color, but it seems too casual for a wedding, though...Are those day time weddings? It will work with navy as well as with dk. chocolate or black. Maybe with booties?

Oh, don't worry. It isn't too casual, at all. The fabric is really nice and IMO the color of the yellow really dresses it up. All three weddings are day-time and even for the formal one I'll be attending it will work, it will just need fancier accessories.

And uh, booties? Nope, sorry. I can't even begin to think about what my calves would look like in booties. smile.gif

LOVE it!  Navy would defnitely work,  and a plum, charcoal grey, or burgundy color would be great too.  You could get a wide wrap in one of those colors and then wear your animal print shoes - the ruffles on the shoulders of the dress look like they might create lumps under a fitted cardigan, but like you said a cropped jacket would be cute.

I'd try maybe TJMaxx, Nordstrom Rack, and Marshalls for a jacket of some kind, or maybe Ann Taylor Loft?  They have some pretty insane clearance deals sometimes, especially when they're trying to clear out last season's stuff ...

I seriously love that dress. The color will work all three seasons. Love Elle's idea of plum with it. Maybe a plum clutch? Maroon might look nice with it for the wedding in the Fall.

I like the idea of plum, navy or charcoal grey. Pretty dress!
