I did ok, but I also had a really cruddy weekend. I did some window shopping but was in a bad mood so didn't even feel tempted to buy anything. I did have to cave after I faield my learner's permit test (I am apparently an idiot) and had to perform some retail therapy in the form of a skirt for F21. It's very versatile and cute though and was only $20 so I don't feel too bad about it. Oterwise that was it on the spending money for me excpet for necessities- grocery shopping and coffee and whatnot. I will do much better though this week, I'm sure.

I did very good this weekend.  Friday I went to Target and I bought a pair of bronze flat sandals and the gold cage-like sandals (shoes are not part of my ban ).

I spent the weekend with my friends. I did spend about $30 on Saturday on dinner and a movie, but I'm allowed to do that for special occassions as well.   My friends and I had a bbq on Sunday and went to see fireworks on the 4th, so I didn't spend any money on either of those days.

I did pretty well this weekend. I paid off one of my credit cards at the mall in full once I got my paycheck. So...1 cc down, 1 to go.

MY BF and I went to see two movies this weekend and we also spent some time cleaning both our apartments. We had so much fun I didn't even care about shopping.

Don't feel bad - I let my DL expire once (DON'T EVERY DO THIS!!) & I had to take my drivers test over - I had been driving with my license for over 8 years - I was in shock!!! It was really hard, dang it.

I did good on my ban, didn't buy anything this weekend except PJs, but that was before I decided on my ban, but they were only $13 anyway!!! But I haven't brought my returns back to the store yet, I'm scared for that, but I think i'm going Thursday & I will stay strong!!! In the meantime I'm staying home and cleaning house. Yuck

And Sage, I used to have a terrible book habit, although I have been starting up again even though they have been cheap from garage sales recently - but what broke my habit from the real book store was my LIBRARY CARD. After I flipped through / read lots of those books, I realized that it wouldn't break my heart to bring them back. If it's something I just think I need in my personal library, I write it down & try to find it used or cheap on ebay / amazon. I don't know what to tell you about magazines, though. I have several subscriptions so that will save me for now, but I still tend to pick up random magazines all the time!!!

hey ladies, thought i'd check in...

friday: $1 for parking (my date paid for dinner & movie so i figured that was fair )

saturday: $10 to split cost of alcohol for party i was attending (i couldn't not go to the party & i couldn't go empty handed), ~$30 for $50 toaster oven house warming gift (i had 20% off coupon & $8 left on a GC), also got gas

sunday: $5 lunch (had to eat out cuz we were on a 3 hour drive), $5 cover charge

monday (long weekend so it counts): got gas AGAIN , $25 groceries, $2-3 bagel (friends spent night, had to "entertain"), $3 subway lunch (got kid pack, such a good deal- also necessity as we were on the road)

i think i did okay, spent quite a bit of money but it was all necessary.   hopefully this coming weekend won't require as much spending!

I am really proud today. I went to Winners and bought nothing. I saw cute shrugs, skirts, shoes, rock bottom prices on lucious lotions and potions and I bought nothing. wow.

Laken1, I have been doing well with the book thing. I go to a couple of really great book sales every year and stock up, and I peruse the second hand stores obsessively. I don't really spend much there either as I return a lot of them for credit towards more books. But like you I do have some that I must keep in my collection, a few choice writers, etc. I guess the magazines are the real killer. I just have to keep telling myself I don't need them. I wish I had some subscriptions!! Lucky and smart you for planning ahead for the shopping ban!!

Oh, today I only spent money on the bus and a coffee. **pat pat** Didnt even get the newspaper. I read my book instead. Who needs to be informed??

yay i'm happy because i've been finding myself walking away from purchases all week and weekend. yipee!

i'm determined not to buy any clothes until the end of august or september. no makeup until i run out and only need to replace things. no bags until novembers. no shoes until i'm ready to buy boots (maybe october).

i did however buy alot of groceries this weekend and my bf bought alot of stuff for us at ikea. but i've been walking away from all my little impulse purchases like magazines and lunch. :)
