i wish i knew more about it, but i don't "specialize" in maternity. *try* to relax until you hear more definite news.

i don't know about that specific thing but karina is right about the heparin shots and the baby aspirin every day---prevents blood clots--my reproductive endrocrinologist had me on those things.
I have a friend who I *believe* had the same thing. She had to give herself heparin shots every day, which seems horrendous but she said wasn't really as bad as it sounds. Sometimes, too, all those tests they offer at the beginning of pregnancy give out *false* positives AND *false* negatives. I always opted out of them so that I wouldn't drive myself insane with worry.
You may also have to take slightly higher doses of iron. I'd tell you to try not to worry, but as a Mom who's been through pregnancy a few times, I know that's not possible. So just know that your doctor probably wouldn't give you false hopes, so if she didn't give any indication of anything major then the hemo doc should be able to take care of everything for you!
I'm sorry to hear that. I know first hand how scary pregnancy complications are, and I'm sorry you're going through this. Hope everything turns out all right.
Thanks for asking Karina. I was told on Friday I'd have to wait until after the Holiday to get to push the appointment for the labs up. In the meantime I went out and got a folic acid supplement and did a lot of reading this weekend. I called the specalist this morning and will know tomorrow morning if I can move up my appointment. I made my concerns very clear, if there are preventative measures to be taken I do not want to wait seeing as I am 7 weeks already and want to be proactive. So for the next day at least it's more waiting...I have an ultrasound scheduled for the 9th and hope that it may shed some light and give me so reassurance.
How are you? You should be ready to go any day now! How exciting!
