Cheesy or cute

My brother is going to propose to his gf and he is trying to think of a way to do it. He has to do something kind of cute or she will be upset.

He is making her a cobblestone like patio at her house out of a mold and concrete. I thought he could write "will you marry me?" on one of the stones and put it in the patio for her to find.

Is that dumb?

He was also thinking of mailing her a letter that asked her to marry him.

If anyone has any feelings on the ideas or suggestions themsevles that would be great. He doesn't want a big prodcution or something w/ a lot of people- no proposing @ a Tigers game (well there wouldn't be a lot of people there). Thanks for the help girls.

LOVE the cobblestone idea!  That is so cute.  The letter idea is okay, but I think something where he could be there in person to see her reaction is better.

The cobblestone idea is cute, the letter idea is way to "circle yes if you like me and no if you don't" Although, if he went the way of awkward 5th grade love letters it would be funny, but not a story I'd want to tell anyone.

That is what I told him. I said "that would be good idea if you were 12." He just looked at me and said "whatever- what great ideas do you have?" I then told him my cobblestone idea.

I like the cobblestone idea b/c it's something that will be there forever (or at least a long time). I think it's a beautiful way to do it.

i love the cobblestone idea.  that way it's permanent, too, so she will always be able to go out on her patio and look at it.  also, there's a better chance of him being around when she finds it (or he could arrange to be), as opposed to a letter, which would probably find her alone.  i always think that a proposal is kind of a moment you share, not something you want to be alone for.

Change of plans. I guess now he is going to propose to her somewhere in Europe when they go in October. Now, he has to figure out where.

Lenox makes these adorable silver fortune cookies that open up.  They come with various pre-made fortunes and blanks to make your own.  One is 'will you marry me'.

You can locate them on their website - about $15 and very classy.
