Years back my mom used to buy blondie mix by a brand like Betty Crocker or some ish. Last time I went to the grocery store, I couldn't find any blondie mix!!??!! Does anyone know where I can find some, maybe TJ's or something?
i've seen them.. maybe just try going to another store.. but why not make from stratch? so easy!
Really? What is your favorite recipe? Also, what brand/grocery store did you see them at? I haven't seen them at Giant or Shoppers Food Warehouse, though I haven't looked in the past few months.
I love blondies. My favorite recipe is from "Chocolate" by Nick Malgieri. Every time I bring them people always ask for the recipe, so here it is...let me know if you like them.
2.5 cups all purpose flour 1/2 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon baking soda 16 tablespoons (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened 1 1/4 cups granulated sugar 3/4 cup firmly packed dark brown sugar 2 large eggs 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1/2 cup coarsely chopped walnuts or pecans (I usually do pecans) 2 cups (12 oz) semisweet chocolate chips
One 10x15x1 inch jelly roll pan buttered and lined with buttered parchment or foil (I don't have a jelly roll pan so I usually use a lasagna pan I think those are 10x13 or something like that, but you should do all the buttering and parchment or wax paper)
1. Set rack at the middle level of the oven and preheat to 350 degrees.
2. In a mixing bowl stir together the flour, salt, and baking soda to mix.
3. Beat the butter with the sugars until combined. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, and finally the vanilla extract.
4. Stir the flour mixture into the butter mixture, then the nuts and chips.
5. Spread the batter into the prepared pan and bake for about 30 minutes, until well risen and firm to the touch. Cool in the pan on a rack.
6. After cake is cool, invert onto a cutting board and peel away the paper. Cut into 2-inch squares.
