I have no idea, but that is incredibly romantic.  Have you ever read the Summer books by Katherine Applegate??  Sadly, really sadly, they are some of my favorite books because I read them at such an important time in my life, and it brings me back so many feelings to read them again. I LOVED them, they are crappy teenager romance novels that you can read in like 2 hours.    I read these in high school- they introduced me to e.e. cummings.  Haha, sadly.  Anyway, in the christmas book, Summer tries to reunite the uncle of the boy she loves with his long-lost wartime love.  It almost was a disaster..

I met my hubby on match.com back when it was first starting out!  The funny part is that I only even found match.com by accident by clicking on the wrong button on a search engine.  And the next funny part is that my hubby was on page 11 of my potential matches - the guys on page 1 (the supposed best matches) were TOTALLY not my type.  I say go for it!  You never know what will happen!

Here are some ideas:

1.  Go to Yahoo and type her name in several different ways and surround it by quotation marks, i.e. "Susan Smith", "Susan A. Smith", "Susie Smith", etc. (try the names one at a time).  If you are coming up with too many results try adding something that might narrow it down like "Susan Smith" and "Yale University" or "Susan Smith" and "ice skater".

2.  Go to MySpace and Friendster and do searches by name and if that doesn't work do one with the town you think she lives in and her age.

3.  Go to members.yahoo.com and do a search and if nothing comes up do an advanced search using more or less parameters.  Also do this on the MSN Hotmail member page and other popular free e-mail services.

4.  I think someone already mentioned this, but go to personals websites and do searches for women her age in her area.

5.  If you happen to know any of her old e-mail addresses, type that into a search in Yahoo or Google.  It may lead you to some more info.

6.  Search her name at her old college's website.  They may have some sort of alumni update.  If she was in a sorority, do the same there.

I do this as part of my job (find info out about people). What information do you already have? That will help narrow down the services that are available to you.

Hmmm... I think I'd go for publicdata.com.  I think you can put in something like a birthday and name and pull up their driver's license. It's a pay service but it's pretty handy, even if you only need it for the one thing.

OMG! Lynnie, the Summer series is one of my all time faves!!  I read it in jr high/high school, too.  I still read them from time to time when I need a light fun read with lots of good memories attached.  Gosh, I so wanted to be Summer when I was younger hahaha...
