Ok, so we're going to Cedar Point in a couple of weeks. I'm going to wear these tanks layered, probably the white one with sequins on top, and these olive capris.
Not sure what shoes??? I'm afraid all of mine would fall off on a ride and I hate to have my feet covered with socks and tennis shoes in the heat! Should I get an espadrille with an ankle strap? Any suggestions?
Also, I'm going to get a messenger/sling style bag to hold everything I need; camera, hoodie for if I get chilly, etc. I've found these, which do you all think I should go with? Or other suggestions? It has to zip so stuff can't fall out and for security purposes.
I voted for #1 b/c I like pink. And you are the queen of pink, so you should have a pink bag. LOL at the naked mannequin.
I think espadrilles would work, as long as you don't go on any water rides. Flip flops are bad, b/c they'll fly off and some rides won't even let you on with them.
If you're comfortable walking around in anything with a heel, then I say go for the espadrilles with strap, since then you don't have to worry about what to do with your shoes....
I'll be there next Weds, but I'm probably just going to be wearing flips the whole time because that's what's comfortable for me. As far as rides where you would be in danger of losing shoes, they have containers for you to put all of your loose items in (including shoes), so I'm not worried about mine. There's only 4 rides (that I can think of right now) where loose shoes can't be worn, and then they have those containers.
Take lots of quarters! None of the rollercoasters or major thrill rides will let you take ANY loose item on, including purses that go over the shoulder, so you'll have to put stuff in lockers. Since this is the case, if you're do wear loose shoes and are willing to go barefoot for line waiting, you can always put loose shoes in a lockers.
Ooh, Ked-like shoes would be cute, or Chucks. But yeah, perhaps not ones that will get ruined by water. They do have lockers by the water rides too, so if you do wear cute shoes you don't want to ruin, you can put them in there.

On the rides that you can't take purses, is it safe to leave them in the containers or leave them with the ride staff? I don't want to be walking back to the lockers all day. It seems like last time we were there they let us take stuff on with us. Maybe I should just get one of those fashionable fanny packs like dot was talking about

I've never been to Cedar Point, but at the amusement parks near me (Hershey Park, Dorney Park and Six Flags Great Adventure), they say that you can put your bag in the containers at your own risk.
Maybe you could wear the espadrilles and then change into flip flops for the water rides. I wouldn't want to walk around barefoot and wearing flip flops would alleviate the problem of ruining your espadrilles. I wouldn't wear keds or any closed toe shoe b/c it's too hot and humid (but that's just me).
You'll have to leave them in containers or put them in lockers. There aren't actually that many rides that have containers though, but there are lockers by a lot of of them, so it wouldn't be that much walking if you do that. I've never had any problems leaving stuff in containers, but I've only left shoes before. If it was a ride that restricted purses, I had to use a locker. I would think it would be safe though, but no guarantees (like anywhere I guess).
The "no loose items on ANY coaster" is a new policy as of last year (I think), which totally sucks. It did just used to be on Millenium Force, Dragster, Wicked Twister, Raptor and Power Tower, but I think they changed because of the liablity of loose stuff of any kind flying in the air during a ride.
Well, looks like I'll be using lots of lockers than! Unfortunately the week I'm going I have to be sure to have some ummm, personal items nearby at all time
Oh, and I might do these espadrilles from Target and bring flip flops for water rides
I live in Central Florida, so I've been to quite a few theme parks. I would wear those polka dot keds or just some flip flops if I were you. I think the rest of your outfit is cute and functional but I wouldn't wear espadrilles; the people who wear "fancy" (I know, even if it's not all that fancy) clothing at theme parks always look a little out of place. Both of the bags are cute too, but again might be too "fancy" for a theme park. A plain style messenger/tote bag would probably be a better choice; after all, the park will probably be flooded with tourists wearing fanny packs, backpacks, and Teva sandals. HTH.

Oh, I was just about to post some ballet-style sneakers, but then I scrolled down and saw that you'd already posted those pink polka-dot keds. those are super cute. My vote would be for those! with a matching pink polka-dot fanny pack ;)
When I go to a theme park, carnival, or fair, it's all about having fun, not putting on a fashion show. You can still be cute while being comfortable and functional. I definintly would go with a closed toe shoe, no more than 1" heel. I don't think that bag would work very well. I would carry a crossbody style just big enough to hold the essentials you will need.
i vote for the pink polka dot keds and no messenger bag. i go to cedar point almost every year and it is just so much easier to not cart anything around. I put my ID, CC and cash in my cargo pockets (like your cargo pants that you are wearing) and am good to go.
I am w/ Bex on this one. The bags are cute, but I would probably not bring it to the park. They have lockers you can get for cheap and I just cram my stuff in their.
I think the espadrilles would be good idea as long as they are comfy to walk in.

How about flat espadrilles w/ ankle wraps? That might be more comfy for a day of walking and standing. Just make your hubby lug a backpack or something, then you're burden-free! Tell him it will make up for after you have kids and YOU'LL have to lug them around!
Oh, and I like #4. It seems smaller than #2, so less bulky. I'm not loving the sequins on #1, even if it is pink.
I always wear flip flops to amusement parks because they are so comfy. Maybe you could bring really light ankle strap shoes to keep in your bag and change into them for the "risky" rides. But usually, girls with flip flops just leave them on the platform for the rides where their feet are hanging down. You don't want to be uncomfortable in a pair of shoes that you don't know are comfy yet.
