Need To Furnish Apartment

I moved about 4 months ago and am having trouble thinking of ways to decorate.  I live in a two bedroom apartment.  All the walls are white (we can't paint them).  We're not supposed to hang things on the wall, but looking in other peoples' windows (just passing by of course) I've seen people hanging stuff.


Now that I know I can hang stuff, I just don't know how to decorate.  I have a moss green couch and cream carpet in the living room, that's it.  And in the bedrooms there is nothing on the walls.  The them in the master bedroom is green.  The second bedroom is pretty much a mish mash of colors.  We're sort of tight on money, so does anyone know of what I can decorate these rooms with in a reasonable budget?

do you have an IKEA near you?  if so, that would be the first place i would try.  they have everything you could ever need for an apartment- super affordable.  they have some cheap prints/artwork, but for a more personal touch i would suggest buying a bunch of frames (some matted, some not) in varying sizes.  then take some of your own photos (vacation pics, landscapes, party pics, etc) to a photo shop and have them enlarged.  frame your photos, arrange them on the wall, and viola!
