I don't own one pair of shorts that aren't "gym-only." I really like these looks below but wonder how they will translate into real life. Help me find shorts....... not soccer mom shorts but stylish shorts that would look cute and fashionable.

Jill Stuart runway Spring 2005 (The second picture has two pairs of shorts!) I might try these on in the store. They are $160ish. But I would ideally like to pay less than $100.

Here is a picture of Nicole wearing shorts by Johnson.

Johnson shorts. These are $250 (too much for something that I'm not sure how much use they would get... ) I like this style and the prints make them seem more fashion-forward.

Please help! :(

I don't have any specific styles to recommend, but I think that crisp lines and taylored details like a crease down the front, cuffs and those button tabs on Nicole make them look cute and stylish rather than casual. I don't like the flowered ones, and I think that those could easily look frumpy rather than cute (though they could certainly look cute with the right outfit or on the right person)

I've seen some mystylediary pictures of some cuffed shorts from H&M and they were pretty cute.

Here's a pair from Alloy.com

Old Navy (I have these)

Gap (I have these too.  I know people are iffy on them, because of the pleats, but I think they're cute on)

J. Crew

(also come in a coral color print too)

Hope that helps some.  I'm not sure about other printed shorts if that's what you're looking for.  I'll keep searching!

I like the solid ones CarrieS posted- i'm not a huge fan of flowered shorts.  ESPECIALLY not for $250- maybe $25.  I think you are better off trying to find a cheap pair, those Jill Stuart ones are way too pricey.

BR outlet had some cute shorts.  Kinda stylish but not soccer mom.  If there is one near you I would check it out.  They always have great sales there.

Ohhhh, I hate shorts too. It is SO hot here, though, I knew I had to buy some this year. I tried on tons, but these were my favorites. I have them in green and in white, and would probably buy the other colors, too, if I could find them in my size.

Women's Mossimo Black: Belted Grassy Knoll Shorts

I like the length, and they don't bunch up at the bottom the way shorts sometimes do.

i love the ones u posted kisa. There so cute and inexpensive. I just went to h&m today and saw a bunch there although the quality might not be the best. My friend toldthat she found a nice pair at Club monaco for $50 so maybe you should check there.
