I guess this was a design from the 80s?  I didn't believe it till I saw the tags.

When her business was about to go bankrupt, she sold her licenses and left designing (this might have been during that time). When she first decided to re-enter the scene, she did so through QVC selling a tacky line called Silk Assets (she is married to Barry Diller who owns QVC). I believe that was in the early 1990's. So this is either from the time she didn't own her own licenses or QVC Silk Assets, I would guess...

Not everything she's ever done was genius. I come across DVF things at thrift stores all the time that make me hurl. She's kept up with the times, but the times haven't always been so great fashion-wise.

Wow - she is one of my favorite designers and I had no clue about this.  Glad she was able to make a comeback - eeww.  Did you read this in a biography or something?  Very interesting.
