I have these Frye Campus boots that I bought a few years ago...I have the hardest time wearing them. I don't want to look cowgirl in them ya know...I live in the OC and that wouldn't fly. I really like them and am hoping you girls can give me some ideas as to what to wear them with...thanks...
ETA: I'm really trying to avoid getting rid of boots that I paid $300 for...

I'd start with a jersey dress, a long cardi, and tights. Or, jeans, a silky top, and chunky sweater. Both of those are comfy and easy to move around in, and defnitely do not say 'Cowgirl'!

great boots! I wouldnt think they are "cowgirl" - more like new england chic. I picture them with skinny jeans and a white button down or jeans and a chunky sweater... denim skirt... etc. they're almost like riding boots to me, so i find them very versatile.
I wear my campus boots with everything too. My favorite is the easiest, skinny jeans tucked in and a long-ish cardi and tank on top. I do have a problem with pairing them with skirts. I found that they work best with my jean or cord skirts.
I have them in the banana color and they are vintage (read, ebay. Vintage just sounds nicer.) I love mine, although they are kind of heavy.
Edit- I added a photo of me in my campus boots in my threadstyle post . It's a pretty basic outfit, but maybe it'll spark some ideas for you to try.

dark skinnies, longer sweater or cardi with a cami under, as long as you aren't rocking some plaid with those Im pretty sure you would have a hard time looking cowgirl.
