dress for vacation...

I loved the target dress (and the price!) nylabelle/christie had in her column this month for my upcoming trip to europe, but it's sold out. Anyone seen anything similar? Black is best, brown is good too. I think it would dress up or down really well for day or night.

Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

Is there another Target store in your area?

It doesn't look too great in this picture but it's really cute.  www.nessaleestyle.com and use VIP1 for 20% off.

Don't go too crazy looking for that Target dress. I tried it on and I think it fit really weird and was super unflattering.

If you have NO hips whatsoever, it might work.

I am a size 2 and I thought it made me look like a hippo.

Really?  I have it and I think it's cute.  Although I tried on blue at first and I thought it made me look kind of wide, so I bought the black one, which is more slimming.

I haven't seen anything else like that, but some of the Gap ones are similar (and on sale).

the color is technically "bordeaux." it has a removable belt. i think it could definitely be dressed up or down.

69$, ann taylor loft

different shape, but again, just as dress up/dress down...and i think it's pretty elegant.

50$, la redoute

i tried on the target dress, and i didn't find it to be sized right in the chest area. (i even tried on a bigger size than normal, but i am sort of chesty la rue)

I bought a James Perse dress that is similar to that in coral for my vacation. It was so handy, and I've been wearing alot around here when it's been hot.

These two are from Esprit. The first one looks like it might be a bit see-through, though.

You girls are so awesome - I've got a few ideas now (and will probably snap up a couple of dresses!). Basically I feel like none of the dresses I have will play very well in europe - they either scream "american" (really bright) or just won't be versatile enough. I am going to be by myself, at least for the Paris part, and I want to be sort of unassuming, which is why the black or brown. I have a lot of sort of "novelty" dresses - like strapless dresses in retro patterns, or little short sundresses that are more naked than I'd want to be ... For this trip, I love the idea of a simple little dress I can pair with ballerinas or flat sandals and a tote for day, or heels and long earrings for night, and I definitely see some candidates here - thanks!

This is the first time I've read this post.  I'm glad my column gave you some ideas!  Anyway, I know that particular dress is still in the two Target near me.  But you've probably already tried all of your Targets.  Anyway, lots of the other dresses posted were really cute.  I'm sure you'll find a good one.  Have fun on your vacation!
