You'd think since I've been through breakups before, I would learn how to cope.
My bf and I just broke up after 1.5 years because we just realized that we have different goals. We are both almost 30 and he is just immature compared to what I want. He is financially unstable, doesn't own a car and is just not ready to settle down. He loves me and wants to be with me, but I am so impatient! I am financially stable and totally ready to buy a house and start building my life with someone
It is really hard because we have love for each other.
I took the road you're turning down, and trust me - you're doing the right thing. I married someone who told me he just needed a little bit of time to get his act together, and um, six years after we met he was still working on it. Doesn't make him a bad person, but believe me, if I could do it over, I'd wait until he got his life cleaned up FIRST, then maybe date him.
I'm sorry! Breakups are so hard, aren't they? Especially when the relationship ends not for lack of love or feelings but other factors. Those are the worst. It's like Dizzy said though - good thing you made your decision now instead of waiting and wasting more of your precious time.
Two pieces of advice: keep yourself as busy as possible & do NOT listen to the radio. (Every song on the radio is designed to make newly single people want to shoot themselves. Trust me on this one!)
