time to buy jeans!

I haven't bought a new pair of jeans since 2007 and I don't really wear them that much anymore now that I am not a stay at home mom. YEAH 2007... I don't know where the time went, I have sure as heck bought every other type of attire lately... at DSW last month I bought seven prs of shoes (all for $410!!).

I am overwhelmed by all the brands and styles too, ugh! skinny, skinnier, denim leggings (?!?), boyfriend, distressed, acid washed, The Dad jean?, high waisted... sheesh!! So I've decided I need some skinnier jeans to show off all these great heels I have, my boot cut jeans just hide them anyway!

I like these two kinda basic choices by Joe's and Paige, they always seem like safe bets for long term trends. What do you think?

What are your favorite brands?

I like the one on the left - It looks classic and versatile. The one on the right has a lot of fading which makes it seem less like a long-term thing, especially if the cuffs are permanently rolled like that. You can always roll the cuffs on the left when you want!

I love PAIGE, they are well made and last forever! I like the Melrose style which is straight leg and also Hudson Alex which is a skinny style.

I wear jeans almost every day at work. I only have 2 HE jeans and one is Hudson. They fit my flat butt like a dream. But I have a tendency to try on jeans everywhere I shop and maybe 1 out of 20 or 30 fit me well. I have jeans from Blue Cult, Target, Forever 21, Martin+Osa, Arden B (old pair) and Buffalo. I really don't care who makes them if they fit right.

I would suggest trying on straight leg styles for versatility. They are usually skinny enough without being suctioned to your leg. I look for a dark rise with no or very little fading. The placement and size of the back pockets are really important to me. I also like to jump around and squat in the dressing room to give me an idea of how much they will stretch out as as wear them.
