Permalink Closed

I am  in search of a  rain jacket with a hood for casual use. I was going to just pick up something black from the north face, but perhaps there are other options out there.

any recs? tia!

(my only stipulation is that is parka length- rather than hip length)

what price point are you looking to use?

I just got an outdoor research jacket that I love.

It's this one in black: http://www.moosejaw.com/moosejaw/shop/product_Outdoor-Research-Women-s-Enigma-Jacket_10035329_10208_10000001_-1_

Marmot is also a decent brand, with good prices and a good product, as is mountain hardwear.

I usually buy through moosejaw...they usually have decent coupons available somewhere online and they have excellent customer service.

I am honestly not sure. I'm hoping $200 and under will get me a good quality jacket, but if I find one that  is more than that, I will hunt/wait for a sale.

Thanks so much for the jacket/brand recs, i;ll be sure to try on that outdoor research jacket once i begin to hit the stores! the problem i'm having at the moment is that I want something longer than hip length- and all of the marmots 's ive seen so far are too short :(

Arcteryx usually has jackets that are longer, but they are very pricey...but very well made.  I like them, but they are always too long for my liking...maybe you'll find something in that brand?  smile

Overstock and Smartbargains both have good prices on outerwear, but I don't see much that meets your specifics. If you're an XS maybe this is the one for you - was $260 now $150:
