Going to NYC This Month
Permalink Closed

My husband has to go to NYC for work, and I get to go along for fun - yay! We'll be there June 20-22. If any ST'ers want to get together for lunch (or dinner) on those days, I'd love to meet y'all, and if anybody has shopping suggestions (I have wandered through Barneys and am looking forward to going back again, though probably can't afford much there). I'd love to get to H&M -- is the one on Lexington anywhere near where we'll be?

We're staying at the Waldorf and I'm on my own for that Monday and Tuesday until the hubby is free from work on Wednesday. *s*

The new H&M is located at the corner of Lexington & 59th...ten blocks (the Waldorf is on 48th) isn't a bad walk, but it'd be a quick cab ride (in case you don't want to mess up hot shoes). Here's the address.

731 Lexington Avenue
New York NY 10005

I think that you'll be closer to the one on 5th across from St. Patrick's Cathedral (I can't remember if the cross street is 53rd or 51st), which is the biggest one I've ever been in...so much fun!

I'll be there the exact same time. You have PM.

atlgirl - i sent you a message.

also yeah, you can totally walk to that h&m from the waldorf and then hit bloomingdale's.. and if you still feel like you didn't find what you needed at the lex h&m, you're close enough to the 5th ave one to stop there before going back to the hotel!

Thanks ladies!! I will PM y'all back shortly. We had an issue with my possibly not arriving until late Monday (hubby’s work problems!) and I wanted to be sure of my schedule. It looks like I will have all day Monday and Tuesday to myself – not to mention Sunday night, because my husband actually has to go to Texas for work first, and won’t arrive until about 10 p.m. Monday night.

It was actually less expensive to book me a hotel than to change my plane ticket, so I am flying into the city on Sunday, and will be at the Sheraton New York Hotel and Towers on 7th ave for Sunday, then will check into the Waldorf sometime Monday.

I'm excited to be there, but a little nervous about getting around. I've not used the subway before - is that the best thing to do or should I just plan to cab it mostly? (And walk; I can do that too. *s*)

Thanks - for those that PM'd - I'm looking forward to meeting you ladies if we can work out the timing!

Jill
