Have you heard of spray-on benzoyl peroxide?
Permalink Closed

I remember seeing something about an acne treatment (benzoyl peroxide) in a spray on form for hard-to-reach places like the back. But I can't remember who it's by or where to buy it. Do any of you know what I'm talking about? Please help....I love summertime and being out in my swimsuit, but not with "backne!"

Hmm... I've never heard of it either, but it seems to me to be a bad idea.  BP bleaches anything it touches, and with a spray it could get everywhere, bleaching your towells, rugs, or worse clothing.

i've never heard of it, but i used to sometimes break out on my back and i even had my derm prescribe me stuff but nothing worked.  and then i tried Benefit's bionic blast and haven't had an issue since!  its only $20- worth a try!

I agree with Drew!  I think this could be a terrible idea!  I have ruined about 10 shirts because of BP (back in middle school/hs- I didn't know BP was the culprit!)  If you use it- I would use it at night, wear the same crappy tshirt or not wear a shirt, sleep on white sheets, and shower off in the morning!

Reading Stylethread is the first time I've ever heard about the bleaching properties of BP. Personally, I've never noticed it, but I've only used it on my face. I need something for my back, but rubbing a cream on is impractical/impossible. I use the Neutrogena body scrub, but I need something else.

It's a good thing you didn't find out the hard way!  It definitely will bleach your clothes, so be sure to use it when you don't care what you're wearing.  I looked at my tube of BP- the last sentence in warnings is: This product may bleach hair or dyed fabric.  It is kind of easy to not read that, as I did for a LOOOONG time, ruining every shirt i put on!
