Help on outfit idea!
Permalink Closed

Just bought this dress and I loved it as soon as I tried it on. I am thinking about wearing this with black tights and black booties. How does that sound?

Also I wanted to see what kind of booties would work? I would wear them with other outfits as well. Price range if we could keep it around $50?
ETA: Looking around for booties and I see that I might have to increase my budget to around $80!

TIA!

I'd wear grey tights & black booties or black tights with grey booties. Also, would wear gold tones jewelry or a bright color scarf ( magenta/purple/lime/yellow/fucsia/red). Did you try the dress with a belt? Maybe patent black  or leather black?

I'd go with black/black. Ankle boots can make your legs look stumpy if you aren't supermodel height. Keeping the leg and shoe in the same color range helps.

If you have Ross/TJ Maxx/Marshalls nearby, I'd try there first - you can easily stay under $50. DSW or Off 5th would be the next best bets.

If you're willing to buy online, newport-news has lots of booties for under $50.

This is around $30.

I love the dress on you. Very cute. But, I have a hard time seeing that with booties. I tend to think booties look better with skirts and dresses that are a few inches above the knee -- otherwise I think legs look a bit stumpy (as Suasoria said).

Maybe you could try it with a bootie-ish shoe, as a sort of middle ground? I didn't spend a lot of time looking, but maybe something like this (sorry, too rushed to look up how to post pic, since I always forget).

Found these on Shoes.com

THese are from Endless

Thanks girls for your help!
I really like the idea of gold tone jewelry Yana!

Exsupahero I will check out newport news online. I'm always kind of iffy with ordering shoes online because my size can vary.
Boots I really like the third and fifth ones that you posted.
I will continue looking at DSW and other places. I would like to use this outfit for a friends birthday in December so I have time :)
