ISO -- white tank top
Permalink Closed

I would like a white tank top to wear with jeans, jewelry and heels to go out in at night. I'm having a hard time finding one that fits the way I want it to. I don't want anything too tight or too lose -- just fitted. I tried JCrew but their's fight too tight for example. (in case you're familiar with the way they fit)
Does anyone have any suggestions?

Beside the way it fits, what style are you looking for?  Ribbed/smooth, reg length/long, skinny/wide strap?

Sorry if this is an obvious question but...can you try sizing on up on the J Crew ones if you don't like how fitted it is in your reg. size?

I'm not sure exactly what you're looking for, but I found some great white tank tops at Forever21. I go through them like water (I work with makeup and wear white so you can imagine how quickly they get ruined) and I am happy with them. They have a couple different styles that range from $2.50 to $4.50. I've been wearing them underneath sweaters/ cardis, and also by themselves with jeans and they are seeming to hold up so far. Vctorias Secret also makes some white stretchy tanks that have out-lasted all of my other white tanks. I work out in them, layer with them, etc, and I have had them for going on 4 years. They're a little more expensive, closer to $20 and I found them in the store in the workout/yoga section. If you're looking for more of a wife beater material, Target's line Faded Glory (I think it's Target) makes the best. Unlike Hanes they're meant to fit a woman's body, so your bra starps won't show or anything. They're also not sheer, but quite a heavy cooton fabric so you can wear a black bra underneath and get away with it. Lots of options!

I prefer a shorter length. But I'm short waisted so I have to have most of my shirts shortened. As far as material and ribbed -- I'm fairly open to anything.

I think if I go a size up at JCrew it won't fit me right under the arms.

Thanks for some of those suggestions... I'll look into some of those places.

My favorites are sleep tanks at Target.  They're regularly $8 or $9, but are on sale this week.  They're nice and thick, fitted but not tight, and the straps are thick enough to wear a regular bra w/out straps slippin' out.

I can't find them online, but they're in the sleep/lounge wear section at my store.  They come in black, navy, white, beige, grey, and pink.

br white tank

BR. I have three of these and they're great. I bought some at the beginning of summer this year and they have held up so well. And they're a lot shorter than some of my other tanks. And on sale from $20 to $12.99
