You're taking an all night flight...what do you wear? I need some ideas, since I'm taking one next week and I want to be as comfy as humanly possible without looking like the most ridiculous schlep alive.

i wore my beach pants on my agonizing return trip home from pr and they were wonderful. i would just wear something with an elastic band.. like gauchos or beach pants

i also wore a cotton c&c dress on my way there and that was amazingly comfy as well. also i didn't have to worry about my pant hems touching the yucky airplane lavatory floor.

I fly the red-eye all the time.  I usually wear black juicy cashmere bottoms or similar pants with an elastic waistband with a thin long-sleeve t and a jacket/hoodie of some sort and slip-on sneakers.  It's all about comfort!  I also bring my pashmina to use as a blanket, my own pillowcase cover, and an eye mask.

I always get cold on planes, so I advise something warm. In the winter, I wear a long stretch heavy knit black skirt, with a long-sleeved tee and wool sweater. In the summer, usually a lighter long skirt or stretch pants, and a cotton twinset so I can layer as needed. Bring socks to wear!

When I fly the redeye I usually wear some form of cargo pants/tshirt/hoodie.  I try to sleep the whole way on the redeye, so I try to avoid jeans, etc. because they make my legs fall asleep if I don't move for a long time. Depending on where I'm landing, I bring a different shirt to change into when I get to the airport.

Escrime is sooo right about the eyemask! They're great for sleeping on an all night flight.  I also bring ipod and ear plugs in case I'm in the Screaming Child Section of the plane.

The last time I flew red-eye, I wore terry cloth pants and two layered racerback tanks (and I brought the terry cloth hoodie with me in case I got cold).  Red-eye isn't about looking fabulous, but I still wanted to look semipresentable, so that's why I wore the terry cloth outfit.

Black yoga pants, ballet slippers or slip on tennies, baby-tee/close fitting, comfy tee, thin knit cashmere/cotton sweater/wrap or cotton zip hoodie.

I also carry a trial size container (you know those really small ones, like Mario Badescu uses) of heavy lotion and lotion socks to give myself a mini spa treatment while in flight.  I've always wanted to get a cashmere airplane blanket too, but never got around to it.  If you can make room for it, the neck pillows are nice for getting some shut eye in.

ditto for me!  i couldn't live (or sleep) without my eye mask- at home, hotels or planes.  it can never be too dark for me!
