food storage

My "tupperware" cabinet is a mess, and always has been. I am ready to toss most of it and start anew, most is stained and scratched up. Does anyone have a favorite food storage brand or a way to store the items I haven't  thought of yet. Any advice is welcome.

I use two options with success:
For food, sauce, etc...I use the blue-lidded glass pyrex containers. I have a variety of sizes and shapes.
For dry foods I use the lock'n'lock containers.

I like the disposable ones that you can get in a big box at Target or Costco.  Once they get too nasty, you throw them away, but in the meantime, you can use them several times.  They aren't as expensive as actual Tupperwear too

I buy cheapie plastic containers at the dollar tree (4 for $1) and then when it gets crummy or cracks from being frozen too much I can toss and buy more.

I use these too for storing leftovers in the fridge.

I also like OXO Pop containers. They're stackable and have an airtight seal, but they're on the pricey side.

Ikea has sets they sell for super duper cheap. They aren't super high quality of course, but I like that most lids will match a couple different sized containers, which makes everything feel less like a miss when I'm digging through the cabinets.

If I were starting fresh and money was no object, I would go with glass/Pyrex, since I fear BPA. (My friend calls the plastic containers "leachables," LOL.)

I use Mason jars a lot, I save jars with good lids (like mayo or pasta sauce), and sometimes just use ziploc bags or foil for odd-sized things. About the only time I use plastic containers is when I have to transport food (like bringing leftovers for lunch).

Oh one thing I would never recommend is that stupid spin and store from the as seen on tv commercials. I picked one up at Tuesday Morning years ago and it is terrible. The lids are really hard to take off and if it is frozen the container will crack. Terrible product.
