Not safe to go into the water: A boy running into the surf in Daytona Beach, Fla., slams on the brakes as a large dorsal fin surfaces.


Have any of you heard the beer commercial where they "salute" the guy who has an irrational fear of going in deep water?  Sadly, they are saluting me!

Me too!!  That doesn't really phase me that much, sadly.  I live maybe an hour from Daytona Beach and there are shark attacks a few times a year, but that picture was most likely staged because the lifeguards have warnings when the conditions are more likely for sharks to be close to shore (murky water, etc.).

Just thought I'd add that I thought you were humming the wedding song!

I watched the 12 year old boy on Good Morning America talk about his incident last July. A shark attacked him and he fought back and they were able to save his arm. He was so couragous.

I have an irrational fear of sharks and hardly go out into the water. Silly, since I do live in Florida. Thanks Jaws.


I thought it was Tom's Diner too.
