UPDATE: Thanks for all the recs.  I arrived and I thought, ：Whoa, the ground looks awfully dry.  Maybe it・s not in the city I・m going to.；  I asked my grandparents and they were like, ：What rain?；  (My Grandpa said, ：It stopped raining when you arrived!；)  It was raining last week, and the forecast was way off!  For once I can say that with a smile.  Anyway, I brought ballet flats, which will be useful anyway.  Thanks again!


Sorry, it's a long post!


I'm going on vacation next week (YAY!) in Taiwan.  However, according to the forecast, it's going to be raining for the next ten days.  Who knows, maybe even more, but the forecast only goes up to 10 days.  The things is, I'll be there for 2 months, so I can't just pack rain clothes. 


Rainboots are out of the question since it's so humid.  I had planned flip flops, but I'm not soaking my feet in the gross streets.  Will sneakers be sufficient?  Unfortuneately the sneakers don't exactly go with the girly clothes and skirts I had planned.  My mom suggested wedges to avoid dunking my feet.  What do you guys think?

I don't if wedges in heavy rain would be good.  I tried that once and slipped a few times and went over on my ankles because my feet got wet and slid around in the shoes.  Maybe they'd work if it was only light rain?

how about good deck/boat shoes?(good ones are made forgetting splashed on i would imagine,and they come in cute colors now) or the "clog" versions of wellies? or the rubber birkenstock clogs?

i've seen people around campus in these, rain or shine,don't know about those holes though



i would  also check LLbean,land's end etc- HTH

My pet peeve about rain is the way the hem of your pants gets wet, even if they're not touching the ground. So, especially since it'll be hot, I'd much rather wear skirts... But then, of course, shoes are more of an issue.. Maybe ballet flats? Or any other closed-toe shoes that go with skirts...

Thanks splash!  At first I was a little bit worried that I wouldn't have enough time to go looking for rain clogs, which are the ideal shoes for such situations, but now I'll just use my ballet flats as my alternative.  I just hope it's not SOAKING wet...  Thanks!

I don't know if you have them already, but those mocassin wedges at Urban that a lot of people bought (pink, green, or tan with white bottoms) might be good for rain since they're sort of plastic-y and elevated.
