About the YSL: It looks a little shapeless IRL, which I think is why I don't like it: that makes it a little frumpy or something, and since it seems like a pretty trendy shape, it overall seems fashion victim. That said, I know that objectively the bag is not at all my own style, so that may be the only reason I dislike it.

Overall, I agree with what others have said: get a classic, so probably the Chanel.

I've seen a bunch of girls on campus carrying Chanel bucket bags with the double C's on them (Not close enough to tell whether they're real), so I'd say if the leather is sturdy enough, you could wear it a lot.

Alma or Chanel.  I would personally get the Chanel first simpy because it's a shoulder bag.  I'm not really sure if its an "everday" bag though.  I would maybe wear it 2-3 times a week?  You sound like you have an awesome bag collection already though, so you could rotate it in.

I think the chanel is timeless and a great piece but I also love the YSL bag and thing it is adorable. What about a black Fendi Spy Bag?

I have a black Epi bag (Pochette), and I love it. The leather is beautiful and very durable. Maybe the Epi Honfleur since you mentioned wanting a shoulder bag? Although it is a little small.


Have you considered Ferragamo? They make beautiful, classic bags. Here are some pictures:

ok, we looked at chanel bags and i love love love them.  but i am holding off till this weekend.  meanwhile, i looked at the fendi spy bag.  which i think is beautiful too.  what do you ladies think of the spy bag as i think i would actually use it more.

I really do not like black so I would never spend any kind of money on a designer bag.  Having said that I absolutely love the Fendi Spy bag you just posted.  I could see myself carrying and loving that bag (if I had something to go with it -ha!) everyday.  So beautiful.  Cost per wear I think the Fendi would win hands down compared to the slightly stuffy Chanel.

I am still all about the Chanel bag!  So classy!!!  But the Fendi is beautiful as well, you really can't go wrong.
