"I post on the Internet, therefore I exist." --Maven Descartes
I'm cleaning out the refrigerator and having this philosophical reverie. So much of my life now revolves around the Internet. I have made some friends that I feel close to--some I have met IRL and some not. I have genuine affection for them. I email, I shop, I read newspapers, I look up old boyfriends phone ##, and now I'm even posting photos of myself on stylethread. I now have my own website, although I haven't done much with it yet. One of these days I will start blogging about the dress I wore in 2nd grade.
In the meantime I read and post on a strange collection of boards. I'm sure there are forums where I could discuss every bit of minutia of my life and memories. What if I woke up tomorrow and it all disappeared? Would I have an existential crisis?
What would Sartre think of this? "The nothing nothings," as my college prof described existentialism. Doesn't that describe the Internet in a way?
Well, I guess I need to get back and do the freezer.
