The cost of living is extremely high in London - plus they are factoring in the exchange rate which is nearly 2 dollars to the pound now. So no, with american dollars, you would not be able to get something larger with 1000 USD (unless you are in a really bad neighborhood).

cost of living is SO pricey in London. SO and I talked about moving back to Europe (preferably London area) but we are afraid that we wouldn't be able to live because of our weak dollar...
