so my bf's b-day is July 27th but i'm a planner and the gift ideas i am thinking of may take a while.  the other background info, is that he is very practical.  like last year i got him a really nice painting  that he looked at, but wasn't necessarily in the market for a painting.  he likes things that he needs.


here are the options (our condo has a modern feel to it and we need a coffee table for downstairs):

the first one will fit better in the area which i'm really concerned as to not "sqeezing" a table into the space.  i like a lot of floor space.  is the first one "boring" compared to the second one? 


with the first one, i would add this end table Click to enlarge the second one doesn't really have a matching end table.  which is another problem.


 


 


 


 


 


 


 


 


next year i am throwing a party on a yacht for his 30th, so this year i was thinking of just doing something more practical, something that he needs, but wouldn't think to buy right now.

I love that first coffee table with the end table. That is a very practical gift but if that is what he prefers, then it is a good idea.

hehehe.  i know.  but you have to understand that he is sooo good with money and that he likes gifts like this.  he likes nice things, so i was thinking this would be good.  for v-day, i always get him something more personal, etc...i'm trying to get him to understand that the 1.5 kt. diamond earrings that we saw (for me) are practical too .

I think both tables are really cool, but I'm so drawn to that 2nd one.  That's awesome! But if space is an issue and you'd rather have my floor space, go w/the first one.
