Drew, why not just do some relaxing, hanging out, BBQ.... maybe cruising bookstores and getting some fun books to relax with? I am surprised your weather isn't supposed to be good, because just a few hrs away down here it's going to be nice, I think. Do you have any museums to check out? How about a spa day? If you work 6 days a week, you deserve it. At the very least, a solid mani/pedi....
rocky, I am so jealous you're going to SF! it's where I was last mem day, and it was easily one of the best weekends ever. Wonderful time in SF, Sonoma, and Tiburon...
As for me, it's all family, all the time. Mom's bday is Friday, so we're headed out to this lovely french restaurant in Great Falls (where I grew up... parents don't live there anymore, but she'll be surprised!). Saturday, Washington Opera matinee - Tosca. No clue about that night. Sun, shopping for my bro's b-day/graduation gift (from culinary school) and other stuff with Mom. Possibly - ew - headed to the office that evening. Monday, hope to go for a nice hike w/brother and then that night we're bbq-ing for his b-day (and memorial day).
So it's all family, but fun... really looking forward to the weekend!

You grew up in Great Falls, dc? I am officially green with envy! :) I used to always say if I could choose anywhere to live it would be around Carderock! I love it there. I used to go repelling, hang out on the "beaches" and go in the water when the ranger wasn't looking (I once got a ticket, but under a fake name since I didn't have ID, hee hee).
Believe me if I still lived where you live then I would have no problem finding stuff to do; walk the dog down to the pencil, hang out in Georgetown, maybe eat at Peacock Cafe, go into Old Town, or just visit some local museums.
Oh my gosh!!!!! I just had the best idea. I know a lot of hotels around DC that take dogs. I think I am going to call SO and see if he want to get away to DC for a few days! Hopefully, we can find a place that isn't booked and take a mini vacation. Thanks for the idea, dc. I hope it works out.
ETA: Nevermind. SO didn't dig the idea of going down to DC at all. He said he wants to stay close to home. Phoey. He did promise to go into NY though and take me to the Natural History Museum and Museum of Modern Art. I love museums so at least that should be a fun day.
Going to see my friends band play on saturday, they are playing at a rib fest so i will probably do alot of eating too.On monday i am having a party yeah! then it's back to school,Boo

Well my BIL is offically released from the army and home now, so tonight in his honor we are all have a BBQ (read lots of beer and eventually Irish car bombs)...I'm so happy he's home now though
Saturday is a Cubs game! I am so excited! Go cubbies! I hope the weather is good.
Sunday, no real plans relax at home maybe spend the day at the park with my daughter. Although they are opening our pool this weekend, but I don't think it'll be warm enough.
My wkd. starts today, yay! I took the day off to get some stuff done; I'm so glad I don't have to work! Today I'm going to get a state id and hang around the apt., do laundry. Eventually I'm going out for a mani. Tonight we're going out for dinner and then to Romeo & Juliet at Navy Pier. Should be nice. Tomorrow is balcony day - I'm buying addtl. flowers & plants and installing some hooks. I also need new outside lights - saw the cutest butterfly ones in the latest Shop Etc and have been obsessed with them ever since (if anyone has seen them at a store pls let me know). I want my balcony nice and pretty before my mom gets here for my bro's graduation in two weeks. Depending how I feel, I might go out at night...
Sunday/Monday is family time. I'm cooking out and going to Star Wars with my brother. I also desperately need to clean out my closet/the guest room closet. He might temporarily move in with me after graduation and the guest room closet is pretty out of control right now.
Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

whoohoo, a three-day weekend! i need this soooo badly- work has been absolutely nuts lately (i hardly ever get to come to ST now, sniff sniff). tomorrow i'm heading down to santa cruz with my roommate. we're going surfing! and there's a big surf contest and a lot of pros will be down there (kelly slater, rob machado, etc). she has a friend who knows all of them and he's taking us to this big party tomorrow night. SO excited! i think that's going to be the highlight of my weekend. sunday, i'm going to rest/recover , do some laundry, etc. monday, i might head up to napa, we'll see...
1. Clean carpet--all spots where my elderly cats have barfed.
2. Spray whiteflies on fuschias. Tried Safers--didn't help much. I'm having to use stronger medicine. It's them or my flowers!
3. Try to coordinate calendar dates with DH for summer months.
4. Put new sheets on guest room bed and clear out closet. Houseguests coming next weekend. Shop for groceries so they won't starve. Look around house and put away anything embarrassing that might be visible.
5. Sneak out to mall. Check out Nordstroms and BR (got $25 gift card last week--must use--must use--must use . . .)
6. Wear earplugs while DH watches Indie 500. (He forgot to record it last year. Too bad.) Vrroom, Vroom.
7. Spend a few moments looking at photos of Normandy Beaches, Auschwitz, other places, remembering those who gave their lives for their country.
