J Crew Return Policy
Permalink Closed

I bought this great peasant skirt from J crew a week ago and after wearing it like twice it's stretched out and I feel I need a smaller size, do you think they will let me exchange it even though I've worn it? I still have the tag and the receipt.

Honestly no. That stinks that it grew out but I was in retail forever and we never could take back worn merchandise except for at Nordstrom. It is worth a try, go in the store and ask to speak to a manager first off and be really nice, but firm. Good Luck.

speaking from personal experience, i would say yes.

i have had issues with things stretching out, or beading falling off and stores have taken them back.  I just make a good case and i have no problems.  It is their poorly constructed merchandise not your missuse of the item!

good luck!

JCrew has an AWESOME return policy!  They will definitely take it back.  I returned a couple tissue tees to them ~2 months ago b/c they lost their color after washing (and I had DEF worn and washed them a few times).  They let me pick out new tissue tees in a different color.

Try it - they were VERY willing to help me!

I am glad that I am wrong here. It used to drive me crazy having my hands tied and not being able accept any returns at BCBG...

They def. should.  I had a pair of J. Crew flip flops a couple of years ago that still cut up my feet after a couple of wearings.  I brought them back to the store and, while the girl was a little snotty to me, when I pushed, she took them back no problem.  Just don't be afraid to be firm if you need to be!

that is nice to hear!

does anyone know if their online returning has gotten any better? it used to be that if you ordered something online or from the catalog, if you returned it at the store, all they did was mail it back to the warehouse anyway and it took 6 weeks or so to get a credit on your card.  does it still work that way?

i love buying things at BR and gap online because you can return them to the store and there's no waiting or anything--just like you bought them at the store.
