I'm trying to figure out if the twist in the front is fashion forward or F21-esque? Anyone own this or have any thoughts on it one way or another? Does it fit weird?

I like it; I just wish I knew what the fabric is like. That can be a deal breaker for me with cardis.

I will be honest: it looks kind of cool, but if I saw you walking down the street in that, my first thought would be that your sweater got unfortunately twisted around goofy. It would take me a second to realize that it was on purpose.

Looks like it could be flattering since it gathers around the waist. I'd have to try it on and see. Hard to tell from a pic.

I'm not digging it but I think it could be better in a diff color. It looks like its adding volume and in that color resembles fat rolls to me.

lol xtina. I'm really burned out on ordering online because 90% percent has to be returned. I can't even get the energy to order this to see if I will look like a person that has started molting. *I know I whine about where I live but damn I hate where I live. There is nothing herecrying.gif

Second on this.  I also think maybe another color would help.

I think I'm the lone dissenter - I like it, and I like it in the nude color.  I think nude can being really hip right now

I really like it, but I am obsessed with that color and cardigans right now. My only concern is what it looks like unbuttoned - do you think it always needs to be buttonned to look right? I am going to JCrew tomorrow to do some pre-fall shopping. I hope they have it, and if they do I'll give a review...

I like it, too. I do like that color but it doesn't look good on me so I'll probably go with the black for myself. I'm also interested in seeing how it looks unbuttoned, but I think it will be fine. I love Jcrew merino - I really want five out of the six merino cardis they have right now (not the forever one, it's way too long for me).

i like it, but i find that i really have to try on j crew stuff b/c the fit and quality vary so much.  i know you can't go to a store where you are - i am in the same boat now that i am in turkey so i guess online is all we have.  i rely heavily on the reviews at j crew aficionada - have you tried that site?

Yes, and the owner of that site is so nice. I wonder if she posts here? *Peeks around*

I tried it on last weekend and didn't care for it.  The fabric was fine, but to me the fit was off.  I've got a c-cup and it didn't flatter my chest at all.  I tried on the gray and it was just meh, as were all the colors IMO.  Oh and I didn't like the way it looked unbuttoned either.  Pass for me - I'm pretty underwhelmed by Jcrew right now.  HTH.

Someone posted some pics of it IRL on her blog. Here is the link: http://simplyjcrew.blogspot.com/2009/08/merino-maya-cardigan-in-dusty-blossom.html

It looks cute on the girl that took IRL pics of it. I want it in charcoal once it goes on sale.

Same for me, I got a chance to try on the Dusty Blossom color this weekend. Unbuttoned it looked like I had deflated balloons/boobs under my chesthmm
