How long should i give the seller to respond ...
Permalink Closed

Last week i bought won a pair of pillowcases on ebay -- the auction was for standard size pillowcases, but they sent me king size.  i emailed the seller right away, asking how they wanted to deal with it and suggesting a few options. sending them back or I said i would be willing to keep them and have them altered if they refunded me half of what i paid. (maybe this was a little pushy??)

so that was tuesday.  no response -- so i sent another email wednesday, and then a third on thursday.  they still have not responded.  i have written them throught ebay (with the contact seller/resonse email thing) and also written directly to their email.

should i give them until the end of the weekend?  then should i threaten negative feedback, or go straight to ebay?  it just really irritates me that they're not responding.

I would start a dispute requesting a refund of your money through Ebay. Ebay will give the seller a chance to respond and fix things before they actually refund your money, but if the seller doesn't take care of things for you and Ebay determines it is valid they will refund your money.  If you paid via Paypal they will ask you to go through Paypal first for the refund. HTH.

thanks, that's what i thought i would have to do.

what's a reasonable amount of time to allow the seller to respond?  i feel like it should only take, at most, 2 days for them to answer my email.  i checked and they have other auctions going right now, so it's not like they're on vacation or something.
