theotherjess, I think that capelet is awesome, but I think the silver sequins would clash with my bronze shoes that I'm wearing.
I was going to get this and wear it, but it looks TERRIBLE on me...I'm usually an XS/S at the Gap and I couldn't even button an M across my chest, but it was so loose in the torso it was just terrible. I loved it so much and the fact that it didn't work on me made me really sad.

If the torso just needs to be taken in, that would be very easy (and inexpensive) for a tailor to do.

That Express shrug is a contender...I've been eyeing it for a while, but I just cannot bring myself to spend $58 on it. Do you think they're worth the price? I have a lot of trouble spending more than $30 on anything from Express since their sales are always so awesome.
I really like this Anthro one, which I adore and is perfect, but the dress was a big enough splurge at $80 for me...$128 isn't happening in this lifetime.
I got this old navy one a couple weeks ago. The cotton is really soft and smooth (it almost feels like silk) so i think its formal enough to wear with your dress. And they are only 19.50
Its not as long as it looks in the picture -- comes to the middle of my upper back (and i'm 5'2)
On a side note...of course I had to venture over to the Old Navy site, proceeded to look around and now I need to try a host of things on. Bad influence!

Thanks so much. I've been in love with it since it came out and I finally bought it the second it hit the sale rack.
The wedding is in Staunton (50 mi. west of Charlottesville)...an old friend of mine from college is getting married. I haven't seen all these people in nearly two years so I'm very excited.
oh yeah I know exactly where that is! Don't know how long you're going to be in town, but Charlottesville is a beautiful place to explore. And I know they have some cool shops in the downtown area right around UVA... (not to encourage you or anything) can't wait to see threadstyle pics once you get the shrug.
