I love when i can find the time to play with my clothes. I recently purchased two shrugs. So last night i decided to play around and see what i could wear with them from my existing wardrobe. Here's a few shots. Also, need some suggestions for shoes for black dress, see below.
Shrug #1 - cream eyelet Gap Shrug - I had to look high and low for this baby since it was sold out on-line within two weeks.
Outfit #1 Gap shrug over white tank and old navy bermudas (that desp. need ironing) from last year. Vintage lucite t-straps with white wedge and vintage leather clutch. Simple brown belt.
Outfit #2
Cream eyelet shrug over a 50's navy day dress
Shrug #2 - gold crochet shrug from anthropologie
Outfit #1
Gold shrug, white bermudas, gold camisole from forever 21, vintage beaded necklace, white wedges (although i think the outfit might work better with a diff pair of shoes, not sure what though)
Outfit #2
Gold Shrug over black Natori dress (which is really a nightgown), black lace-up heels. I'm not sure if these shoes work with this dress. I'm on the hunt for a different pair. What do you guys think? I think maybe a slingback or strapless mule might work better. I know it's my pet peeve but i dont like to break up a silhouette and the straps on the shoes do that. I think you can get away with it if you are super tall but i'm 5'5 which is not short but it's not tall either.
I did receive the laredoute dress and was hugely disappointed. It's more like a tent. There is nothing defining the waist area and the belt that is included isnt going to do the trick. I really love the fabric and would consider returning it for the skirt but it's kind of risky. There are not enough photos on the website to see it at different angles to see if it would work for me. So, i'm sending it back for a refund. Maybe if the skirt goes on sale it might be worth trying.
You look great in all your outfits! Because I am in the midst of developing a fetish for the color white I particularly love your first outfit. I would be scared to wear all white, but you look fantastic!
