seller no longer registered user- help!

Hello!  I bid on a couple of pieces of jewelry from a seller (angelloveshopping) rec. by someone on this board (don't remember who?)  Last night, I won one of the auctions (the two others were set to end over the next two days).  A couple of hours after I won, I received a note from ebay saying the seller was no longer a registered user and his/her listings have been removed.  I received two separate e-mails, one for each of the items that had not yet ended on which I was bidding, saying that I was "not required to complete the transaction."  On ebay's site, they recommend not doing business with unregistered sellers because I wouldn't be protected by ebay.  But I didn't receive an e-mail about the first item that I had already won- does that mean I should continue that transaction and pay for the necklace- or will I not be covered by ebay because the user isn't registered anymore?  Has this ever happened to anyone else w/ this seller or another seller?

I say err on the side of caution; don't pay.  If she is not a registered user now I think that is all that matters.

i agree with drew. if they are no longer a registered user they will not be able to give you negative feedback for not paying either.

this happened to me once, but in reverse. i was the seller and the winning bidder became "not a registered user" almost immediately after my auctions ended (she had actually been the winning bidder on two of my auctions) the ordeal was a bit messy, but it ended up okay.

i say it's too shady of a situation to take a chance losing your money on.
