And just 'cause I am feeling like a big baby right now, let me add that I put on self tanner this morning (I'm a total novice) and I have giant splotches all over my arms.  I look like I have Vitaligo or some weird skin disease.  Lovely.

What the frig, I think we'll put an offer for the original asking price and just cross our fingers really hard they'll accept it, although I did speak with the listing agent and she said we probably would only be able to get a few "free" upgrades out of the builder.  PATOOEY.

Okay, first get rid of that stupid realtor! Ask around and see if anyone can recommend a good one to you, maybe you know of someone listing or that just bought a house and they can give you their realtors name. My husbands a realtor and he's on top of everything for his clients. Thats his job, to know everything and to have his clients happy at all times, stress free if possible. Good luck, your future house is somewhere out there and you'll get to it eventually......

I say go for the perfect house too.  Put in your offer, or maybe meet them in the middle?  My mom is still mad at my dad TO THIS DAY (20 years later) for not buying the house she wanted because of about 20K.  Instead, they got a slightly smaller house for a little less because my dad didn't think he could swing it.  Now, the houses she originally wanted are worth about $200,000 more than our house, and have almost tripled in price.  So, sometimes it's worth the extra $$.

FP, Indeed, I did see the piece on self tanner and the remover.  Thankfully, I didn't need it.  I re-applied last night with terrific, even results. 

Thanks, JMR.  We have decided the extra money is definately not worth it for the house.  It's not the mortgage payment that is the problem; with us it's about principal, and that house is simply not worth that much money (to us).  I'm over it all ready.

I have a little confession to make.  I didn't actually see the house until after I posted this thread.  I would never live on the particular street it is on; too crowded and old (we already live on a crowded, old street; we want a nice street with well kept houses. I hate that our house is the nicest on the block and it would be the same thing with this house). 

I guess I learned my lesson about jumping the gun before really looking fully into the subject.  Oops.

When I was househunting, we were outbid on a house, and I was so upset. Everyone that "pollyanna-ed" me really got on me nerves with their "good things come to those who wait", BUT it turns out they were right. 3 weeks later we found a house that was far better suited for us, still in our price range, with more features and in a better neighborhood.

So as bad as it stings, accept it and move on, with another realtor of course! And, if you see something that catches your eye, don't be afraid to call your realtor and demand that he/she get you an appointment.
