so i just got one yesterday, and i just put about 70 songs on it...  but it won't stop playing...  how do i get it to stop..


i left the manual at home...  sorry.

i'm sorry, i AM laughing.

i just loaded a song (ONE SONG) onto mine for the first time yesterday and couldn't figure out much. i have the booklet in front of me though...

TURN OFF IPOD: Press and hold Play/Pause. (which is the bottom area... the 6:00 position)

yeah... you, me AND my husband scratching our heads.

i like to think that i'm just soooooo savvy with anything apple/mac related, but i think i do need to read the instruction booklet for this.

we'll get through it.

Someone had to show me how to turn it off too.

That feature is actually my main pet peeve about the ipod. If you hold the button down for a bit too long it turns off and turns back on again. I still haven't gotten the hang of it!

I had to respond even though you have your answer - we at one time had FOUR ipods at our house, and we had only paid for one (long story, and no, they were not stolen). Well, I didn't give a crap if i ever had one or not but my DH is a Mac addict (he has 14 mac computers) / computer guru and he insisted I would love it. He showed me all the functions and it looked so easy & I "yeah yeah"ed him. Well, the first day I used it I completely ran the battery down until it turned off because I couldn't turn it off. So tara t, trust me, you are not alone. Don't feel bad - I stick with my original comment - IT SHOULD SAY "OFF" DAMN IT!!!!!!
