We decided to go with this room as inspiration:




We are adding molding half way up the wall - the bottom half of the room will be dark purple - the upper half light purple and the carpet I think we are going to go with sage green for a gardeny looking room.


Here is the crib we picked out:

There are two windows in the room so I think I will use these curtains



and my mom - MIL - and I will hand paint some lavendar that looks like it is "Growing" from the ground - and add some butterflies/dragon flies to the walls - and hanging from the ceiling.


I want it to feel like an indoor garden.

Awww...it's very sweet. And my favourite colour is purple!


If my two-year old were not a boy I probably would have painted a giant purple butterfly on his wall!

that's cute and it's something that she could grow into as well.  i started to look at nurserys just for the fun of it after reading your post and i love the bows on this crib....you could do purple bows

Hi, Jen.  I have those drapes.  Just be sure to order them longer than you need them, so you can roll them up even if you want to keep them down, to keep the look.


I like your room so far. I must have missed or forgotten, but you are having a girl, right?  Congrats. 


Tatouage is like the greatest thing ever, and I bet you could have some fun playing with the rub-ons in this room.  Check it out.

I love the designs, have used them, and can vouche for them looking like the real thing.  Tons of people thought I was an artist and did murals in my home, but it was all cheaply done with Tatouage.

I just have to say that Thalia is going to have the sweetest little room:)!  I also agree that as she gets older she will be able to grow into it.  Heck, I'm almost 29 and I wouldn't mind having that room!!
