The words at the bottom of the picture say something like "Stadium for the (indecipherable word) park commission". I THINK that's what it says. Really tough to tell. So, I'm guessing some kind of stadium, but I don't know where...

Yeah, at first we guessed a collage of Washington buildings, but it's not.
I'm not sure what the prize is - one of his friends sent an email offering a prize.  I guess he always does this...

That picture resembles Soldier Field a little.  Maybe it is one of the original designs.  I'm not familiar w/ Chicago, but does the tall structure that resembles the Washington Monument look like any building in the Chicago skyline?

*****EDIT*****  That's EXACTLY what it is.  Check this link out.  Click on the timeline.  First picture.  http://www.soldierfield.net/History.aspx

Hmm I'm going to have my FH look at it, he seems to know everything.

Thanks Cricket!  I knew you bright ladies would come through!
The bldg. did look like the Field Museum (coincidentally I was just there this wkd at the Jackie Kennedy exhibit). But that other monument type bldg was really throwing me off.  I told my coworker & I will let you know if what he wins if he wins!
