brokenhearted...

me and my boyfriend of 7 months ended things a few months ago, but we still hung out all the time and acted like bf and gf even after we broke up bc we kept hoping we could work things out but about two weeks ago we stopped everything and we dont even call each other anymore. and ive gotten over the pain and most of the heartache and gotten really into myself and my projects (like the really cool dress i am sewing right now!) but i still get sad every so often (ok, like once a day)  its just this time of day, getting off work around 6 and coming home, that the sadness hits bc thats when he used to call and say come over or what are we doing tonight...and now, its just me and my projects and the gym and no boy calling my cell phone.  and well, i just miss him. (and making out.)

sorry, i just had to get that out of my system.

I'm so sorry! It sounds like you are doing exactly what you should do to feel better - I hope you do soon!

Can I ask about specifics? I just broke up with a wonderful guy for long distance and other reasons, and although I definitely want to stay in touch, I want to be sure not to let it get messy

splash, me and him broke up mostly bc we just weren't right for each other. its like we both still love each other and think we're each amazing but we disagreed and fought about everything! but also, one of the main reasons i think we started fighting so much was bc he didnt put any effort into making us work bc he knew he was moving (he leaves next weekend actually) about two hours away to start his career ( as a hair dresser, in a really posh salon).  and he pretty much told me he wanted to focus on his career and stuff, so he like just expected me to stay happy in our relationship without him putting ANY effort into me at all. and it just didnt work for me. (but he didnt start acting like he didnt care about our relationship until a while after we had been dating bc in the beginning, he was sooo in love with me and he was dead set on staying together when he left and he wanted to get married, etc so thats why it was soo frustrating when he changed his mind. i felt like everything he had said previously was a lie or something)

yeah, you know i initially thought it would be cool stay in touch when he moved too, but now i know if i do and i found out that he's like loving his new job and dating someone else, etc...it will make me really sad to know he's moved on and stuff like that. so i would rather just not know what he's doing, ya know?

I'm so sorry - it will be sad for a while, but I'm glad you have projects going on. I am excited to hear that you are sewing a dress - my MIL bought me a sewing machine for my bday because I want to learn - I am practicing on a skirt with ultra cheap material. I am jealous. If you were closer I would get you to teach me to take your mind off the ex. WIN WIN!!

Things will get better, feel free to whine & share - that's what we are here for. And know that soon there will be someone else to call you - and also to make out.
Keep your chin up.

Bri, this is not helpful, I'm sure (because I'm in the same boat, and I have no helpful advice), but I had to point out this crazy coincidence when I saw the title of your post. I am also quite sad about my recent breakup with my quite wonderful, ALMOST perfect ex, and for some reason I decided to make a tee shirt that says 'Heartbroken.' And now whenever I'm having a really rough day, I wear it and scowl at people on the streets. It's cathartic. (sp?)

I'd totally love one of those shirts, Lisa! I might have to make one myself. I'm not actually heartbroken at all, but I think it'd be hilarious for me to wear it and scowl at people knowing they'd think that... it's really the irony of it all that appeals to me. Am I the only one that thinks that's funny?

bri - I'm really sorry. There are always little things that freak us out/make us sad when we end a relationship (any kind of relationship). My worst was going to the grocery store. I still shudder thinking about how I felt the first few times I went by myself after I broke up with a guy I lived with. And the drive home is always so boring anyway. Boredom = nothing to do = thinking = thinking about past = sad. My only advice is to let time do its job. Your heart will mend but it's a slow and painful process. Stick it through and you'll be so much better off. I could always give you my # and you can call me then! I'm at work but god knows I don't want to be doing work.
