I am referring of course to the massive scandal that has engulfed Spokane, WA and is now making national news - nothing like a gay sex scandal to put a cherry on top of living in the "Inland Northwest" . . . .


Apparently the mayor has been visiting gay sex sites and soliciting, um, stuff.  Whilst at work.  Whilst fighting gay rights.  And is now taking a leave of absence.  After resigning from participation in many organizations that involve children.


Yay for us ~~~~~sarcasm~~~~~ We're famous!


Just wanted to see how far out we made it . . .

i'm there with you. the gov. of my great state (nj) simulataneously resigned and came out as a "gay american" (his words). for awhile everyone thought that he was going to get sued for sexual harassment b/c he was allegedly having an affair and give his alleged lover a really important job (head of anti-terrorism or something along those lines). but he never got sued.

I have indeed heard and I am in Dallas - it was on Good Morning America this week.

Congrats, hope your next guy isn't a (alleged) perv. LOL - sorry - I couldn't resist - could happen to anyone. You also must remember that I am from Louisiana - the place where politicians are raised to be crooked.

i heard about it and it got me so mad -- what a hypocrite!  i can't imagine what it must be like to actually be a part of a group that you work so hard against - it doesn't make any sense to me.  actually, it pisses me off.


what killed me though was that he gave a job to some guy because he thought he was hot - i can't remember what the job was, but it was like affirmative action officer or something that matters.  i know people are hired based on looks all the time, but to blatantly tell someone (and of course, this is the hiree's side of the story) "i don't care what your qualifications are, but you're hot and i want to date you" is just disgusting.

it was mentioned in a NY times editorial as an example of egregious gay-hating hypocrisy... not that that matter cause no one reads the times editorials except people who already know they're going to agree with whatever they read (like me). I think it was described as one of those cases where a man hates gays, is against homosexuality, and actually believes "I'm not gay, I just like to have sex with men."
