Tis the Season for Graduation Gifts...UPDATE

so my little sister is graduation from H.S....my old H.S. and i want to get her a nice gift.  maybe jewelry or something....nothing practical, she'll get enough of that stuff.  she is actually going to college in CHICAGO!!! so after leaving home for the east coast and not returning home...i get to see her on a regular basis again!  so i want to get her something personal (i think i feel guilty for not being around when she was growing up, cuz i had my brother).  i have found some jewelry i like.  nothing tiffany's though, she's not like that.  but she did go to an all girls catholic h.s. so she's one of those (so am i though).  less than $500.  jewelry pics would be nice or anything else that anyone can think of, but nothing too practical.

i'm extremely grateful for suggestions, especially from some of the "younger" girls on the board like her age or older.

I am graduating from college and I got some diamond earrings.  I absolutely love them!!  Also I think a purse could be a good idea or maybe take her shopping when she gets to Chicago for some new clothes- just put her an IOU in a card and set up the date.

Are you assuming she doesn't like Tiffany's or has she said that?  I would love to get a necklace from there for graduation.  What is her style?  Maybe that would help us pick out jewelry.  Or would she like a nice bag?

since you are excited that you will be in the same state as her, i would get her stuff you two can do together when she is in town... or that she will want in college but may not think to get before hand...

maybe like, a cool bag for class, and then put in it some fun jewelry or cute flip flops, get a gf for a mani/pedi for the both of you, or to a cool restaurant, a fake id if you guys look alike (and if she would have any need for one)....

my freshman year for christmas my sister gave me the tiffany bead bracelet and i love it and wear it everyday, simply b/c she gave it to me, but my favorite part of that gift was that she also got me fun stuff that she knew i missed out on while living in the dorms (ie. williams and sonoma s'mores b/c i told her we tried to make them in the dorm microwave, etc.)

so either way, i'm sure she will be happy. she's lucky to have you!
