New Diet Coke?
Permalink Closed

So, at Target today I noticed 20 oz. of Diet Coke with Splenda. I bought one to compare to regular diet coke. It's similar enough, but doesn't seem as bubbly, but I also accidently partially froze the splenda one, so by the time it defrosted it could have lost some of the carbonation.

As any one seen any marketing for it? I had no idea they were doing it.

I saw a commercial for it the other day and it piqued my curiosity, but I'm now fully trained to prefer Diet Coke over regular.  But two years ago I would've been all over it!

I saw a billboard on the interstate on saturday & wondered to myself if it was new or something I had overlooked. Dear God, please don't let them screw up my dt. coke. I truly need it to wake me up in the mornings.

How funny!  I was at the deli just this morning when I noticed the new diet coke w/ splenda and it piqued my curiosity so I decided to buy it.  It tastes amazingly like regular diet coke, but like ejc423, I also have trained myself to prefer diet coke.

greendiamond - the one I had today had the right amount of carbonation.  I def think it was the freezing that did it.

I wonder if they will replace the diet Coke with aspartame with the Splenda one? Splenda is supposed to be less harmful than aspartame. Not that I really know if aspartame is all that harmful, but I guess splenda is better. I had pudding sweetened with splenda and it was really good.

I tried it last week and love it.  Splenda is the only artificial sweetener that I can stand.  It really does taste more like regular sugar.  It's not as good as my all time, can't quit, regular coke, but it's close.   For those of you who love Coke and can't get used to Diet Coke, this one will help.  OT, but Diet RC is also close in taste (also made with Splenda).

I think I'm going to try this one w/splenda.  I love diet coke, but I've read too many things and too many people have showed me articles about how horrible aspertame (the ingrident in Nutrasweet) is for you.  It has been shown to cause all sorts of health problems in people.  It's still not proven, but I stopped drinking diet coke on a regular basis because I don't want anything bad to happen.

I haven't seen it either here not that I'm a carbonated beverage fan or anything anyways.  I use to work at some batting cages with a concession stand and whenever people would try to switch from regular coke to diet they would have me fill up a cup of coke 3/4 of the way and the last 1/4 with diet and mix it and they would do that until they could stand that and then move to 1/2 and 1/2 then 3/4 diet and 1/4 regular and finally drink just diet.  That is how I learned to drink diet. It might work for you.

I'm going to give the splenda version a try when I run across it.  I like splenda and all the  horror stories surrounding equal makes me scared!

Im in the south(Houston, TX) and I saw some advertisment on the new diet coke about a week ago. For a second, I wasn't sure if I was dreaming or not.
