Ruehl!

If you have a new Ruehl store in your area (there are 5 in the US open now) i highly recommend checking it out.  we stopped at ours this past weekend and i was so impressed with the friendly service (they are a branch of A&F so i was expecting the worst) and the quality.  their t-shirts are DIVINE!  super long and super soft... i am going back to pick up more...

anyone else been?

I was there too. I actually found a cute bag there. And I really like their denim. I just wish the lighting was better in the store.

i was in the one in Columbus OH... and I overheard the manager telling someone that there are only 5 right now.  i would go to A&F's website to find locations for it... the full name is Ruehl 925 Greenwich (or something close to it)

yeah- the lighting is a little off- but did you notice that they actually put a built in bra in their shirts????????? not just a shelf bra- but a full fledged underwire bra?  i was SO impressed by that!

Tried that.  :(  I'm sure if I am just patient, I will come across the store in a mall near me.

I know - I wish H&M would open here too!  Where are you?  I'm in O.C. but work in L.A.

I know H& M is opening in S.F.

What are the prices like for this new Ruehl?  Higher than S&F and Hollister? Between?

I live in San Gabriel, which is about a 15 min. drive from downtown LA.
Do you know when the H&M in SF is opening?

I went today!  Cute stuff.  I was looking for something specific today, but if I wasn't I probably would have bought some stuff.

Was yours set up really weird?  Mine was set up like a long empty hallway and then there were a bunch of small rooms on the left and right side where the clothes were.  Looking in from the mall, it looked empty.   It took me a second to figure out what I was supposed to do.

yeah that is our set up too- we are at an outside location at Easton so the facade looks like a brownstone and then when you enter it is supposed to give you a vibe of being in an apartment- i was really confused the first time too- but now i have got it down...

prices are more than A&F.  It is supposed to be geared towards 25-30 year olds with high disposable incomes- i read an article about it a while ago in WWD and the demos they were pushing.  jeans are $100, tees are $30 and dressy shirts are around $70...

leahleanna- it is where Graeter's ice cream used to be next to CPK (i am SO sad that they took out Graeters but my hips are a lot happier!)

Yes, I have been to one. I was in one last week for the first time. I went to the one in Tampa and I liked it. It was a lot more expensive than I was expecting, but the layout was really cute. The salespeople were really helpful, I was surprised. I mean, I got lost and couldn't find the registers, and it was so dark that I had to bring a pair of jeans over to a lamp to read the size, but overall I got good vibes. I found their 50% off table in a far far back and it was filled with some really nice stuff. I ended up going home with a long sleeve shirt that is ideal for layering and a really pretty lacy bra that was too cute to pass up. I think i'll be going back, if not for the sale table alone.

I just wanted to say I Ruehl too!

I went to the one in Garden State Plaza while I was in New York and I was floored. I actually really like ambient stores with darker lighting so Ruehl was right up my alley. I only had about 20 minutes in there and I wish I could've explored more but all in all I was happy. The store set up took a little getting used to and I don't like that the registers are in the back (though I do like the way they're set up with the stools in front of them). I love the color scheme they use (more earthy rich tones, very few bright colors) and the quality of the clothes is defintely worth the money IMO.

I went a bit crazy at the 50% off shelves and racks. I bought a cute cotton poplin stripe skirt, a really nice Marc-Jacobs esque miltary style jacket, and a funny t-shirt that says "Name Dropper and Social Climber" all for under $100.
