Does second day air mean only if we feel like it?!  How can something shipped UPS Second Day Air not arrive after 3 bussines days?!  I am sure its a combination of the company shipping the item and UPS, but still   Not to mention the items had to make 3 stops in CA before leaving the state!

All this waiting and I am probably just going to return the item and be waiting for my credit!

Edit: to fix angy typos

Oh I hate ups.  I can't stand how long it takes for a package to get to me.  I've made the mistake of ordering from sephora and choosing ups and not usps and it takes a week to get my order when usps takes only 3 days at the most!

Oh and the number of stops they make.  I totally agree with you.  How many stops is really necessary in Kentucky when I order stuff? I didn't think there were than many big cities there!

Wow, I'm really sorry & surprised to hear this - I always send ebay sales stuff UPS ground because they offer cheaper shipping (over 1 lb) & free insurance up to $100 - and I hate USPS - plus the ladies at my UPS retail store are so much nicer than those mean ladies at the post office. I'm glad to hear a mix so I can take all these things into consideration. I do notice that sometimes it is a week, sometimes 2 days - who knows why!!!

If you use services like UPS or Fedex for long enough, sooner or later they royally f*** something up and then do nothing to rectify and generally blame it on the customer. Great.

I remember trying to post something once and it took longer than their "guaranteed 2nd day" delivery and when I called they said, more than once "Yes, we guarantee second day delivery but the package was delayed." Uh, what? So that's not really a 'guarantee' there, is it? I was so mad I almost got the dictionary out to lecture the CS person about the proper meaning of the word.

Me too. Most of my online purchases are sent through UPS (Sephora, Urban Outfitters, Dell, J.Crew, just to name a few) and i've never had any problems.

I have had horrible experience with UPS. The driver threw around our furniture from West Elm, so that when we got it there was a huge gash in the box and the furniture was scratched and dented!!! They totally disregard the handle with care label.

i've had good experiences with ups but horrible experiences with fed-ex home delivery. the thing is a lot of these companies contract out the actual delivery portion so depending on where you live you could end up with a really great driver or a really crappy one. my ups guy is great, and usually comes later in the day. fed-ex is horrible, they never leave the door tags, so i'll end up with a random final notice on an item that i didn't even know they were trying to deliver and having to scramble to make arrangements. fortunately the man who owns the bodega on my corner is really nice and always signs for packages for me.

Grrrrr - if they have 'No Signature Necessary' and 'Leave in X location' as options for delivery, THEN WHY WON'T THEY EVER DO IT!  Just don't even offer it then!

I HATE UPS. It always takes at LEAST 5 days to get to me, even when it's just coming from Southern California.

Also, I've found that "2nd Day Air" means different things depending on what CS rep you're talking to.

at first i was in love with UPS and now i hate them and FedEx both!  i get packages from my work on a weekly basis and for some reason sometimes they send them FedEx and sometimes UPS.  last week i had 4 (!) messages from the FedEx driver on my home office phone about two packages that he was trying to leave.  GRRRRR... I was traveling all week and didn't get the messages until Friday- and appartently they don't work Sundays and Mondays- what?  so wierd... and now the UPS driver is becoming the same bumbling idiot.  i have had some things delivered by that new service that has a yellow and red logo (can't remember the name) and they are MUCH better at customer service!

I HATE UPS too!  I'm constantly receiving packages and am NEVER home when the delivery person comes.  I live in an apartment so they don't leave the package at the door, but do they leave a delivery slip letting me know they came today and my package is in the apartment office?  NO! Maybe it's just me but I would think that something like that would be standard, but unfortunately I don't think they even knock on my door anymore, they just assume I'm not home and deliver it to the office first!  How lazy! It drives me insane because I'm not constantly checking online to see if my package arrives, I just assume that if it was delivered I'd have a slip on my door!  I even emailed UPS customer service about this, all they said was they forwarded my complaint and the appropriate person would get back to me....hmm guess what...it never happened!  Go figure!

According to UPS, my apartment doesn't exist.

Because of this, I avoid shopping with companies that use UPS at all costs.

It wouldn't be so bad if the UPS Office where all my packages are held wasn't all the way across town and only open during business hours...um people I work a full time job and do not have time to deal with 2 hours of traffic to get a stupid package!

I wish all the companies would just use the good old US Postal Service.

I recently received a package (well, I almost did NOT receive it) that, for some obscure reason, had an incorrect street address on the shipping label. The package was shipped via UPS Ground and UPS mailed me a notification saying they were unable to deliver the package because of the incorrect address.

I think it was hilarious that they mailed me the notification using the aforementioned incorrect address and the USPS was still able to deliver it to my mailbox. If they had just mailed me the package (which was a small envelope) along with the notification, they would have saved me the trouble of taking the bus to pick it up from across town.

I just hate to pay for service I don't get.

That is so funny Hedvig.

This just made me remember that I have a package waiting for me at the ups pick up that I cannot get to because of my work hours. My ups Guy is so nice but he is afraid of the dog so even if i am home i just get a notice. I understand the dog thing, even though she is so good, but I wish he would make a little effort to make some noise. oh well thats my fault for having a Pit bull (love her). My main complaint is that they are open at 10:00pm for a same day delivery change, but not if you call the day before????what is this ??? if they are there anyhow why cant I have my new purse?? Oh USPS is so bad, my mail man seriously throws the package over the fence. I have found it several feet, at least 6 ft from the fence.
