So FH is about halfway through his internship in Houston right now, and has been officially offered a position there. They like him so much they are offering him a much higher starting salary than we'd expected along with relocation expenses (). Apparently they are wanting to overhaul the lab and want to start with him! It also looks like he is going to be offered a position in Denver - even higher salary than Houston and a city that we might like to settle down in. Right now we are just waiting for the official offer from Denver with some definite numbers. I am so excited!!! Even though we may end up in Houston - I'll get to meet some of you girls! - FH said he's liking it better down there and is actually going to look at some apartments today. We should know more in a week or maybe two, but I just had to gush to somebody! We aren't telling family or friends (IRL ones, that is ) until we are positive b/c we don't want to jerk them around any more than we already have. At this point, I am fine with either place. YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!
I'll keep y'all updated! Thanks for listening !

Yay!! That is great news. I'm glad he finally is getting the hang of houston and isn't hating it. It sounds like that is a great opportunity for him - lab overhaul with him being a keeper. I've never been to denver so I can't advise you one way or the other. Just go see both places and decide. If you end up in Houston let me know! We can plan shopping trips and trips to walmart together.
He's starting to wear on my nerves a bit - we've had 3 pro/con phone calls so far today and it's only lunchtime! I have much more respect for him now though, 'cause I'm usually the obsessive one!
Either way, I'm going to need someone to go wedding dress shopping with . . . !

Oh, LMonet, I'm so happy that you're excited again! I know you were super stressed about the whole thing for awhile and now it looks like things are looking up. Whichever place you and FH choose will be great, I'm sure.
Leah - Best of luck! I have never been to Houston, but when I was at CU-Boulder I got very sick of Boulder my senior year and did much of my socializing in Denver. It's a laid-back town - not trying to be as oppressively "cool" as Boulder (and you really can't beat the great skiing nearby!) Plus it's not far to New Mexico (ok, it's a few hours), which I of course think is great. From what I "know" of you, I think it'd be a terrific fit.

Awwww. "Mr Halleybird" -- that is so cute!

Okay, girlies - a live update! FH just got a call from Denver! They are flying him there (all expenses paid) for 3 days for a working interview and to meet all the staff! We also found out that we would get $4,000 relocation/sign-on bonus should they (all available appendages crossed) offer him this position! He also got his professor's blessing on the Denver position, so right now it's all ahead full with Houston as backup plan numero uno.
