regarding my new shoes, UDPATE - returned them - thanks anyway!

okay, i realize that not everyone likes these shoes but i do and so i tried on the shoes with a bunch of different outfits.  to be honest, i'm not that thrilled with any of them.  can i get some opinions on (a) whether ANY of them look good; and (b) if there is a way that any of them could look better??  i.e. what am i doing wrong?  Thanks and sorry for the crappy pictures!

here are the explanations of the outfits:

pics 1) and 2) - with a solid black wrap dress - this dress is now too long on me so i have to get it hemmed.  ignore the length (in the 2nd pic i tried to hold it up though).  also, i am having trouble accessorizing this dress with these shoes so help in that area would be great).

pics 3) and 4) - with skinny jeans and a going out top tucked out

pics 4) and 5) with skinny jeans, same top tucked in

pic 6) skinny jeans, top tucked out and belted

pic 7) bootcut jeans, tucked in

pic 8) white bootcut pants, tucked in

pic 9) and 10) black high waisted pencil skirt and same shirt (maybe too much black) - also how do i accessorize this if it works?

thanks for looking!!

I don't think you're doing anything wrong - it all looks great to me. I'm just not a big fan of white/beige combination, where you wear the shoes with white pants, the rest is fine.

Like them with the dress and skirt. Not so fond of them with the skinny jeans (a bit extreme and the cutouts seem awkward with the length of the jeans). They work with the bootcut IMO. The cut/style of the white pants works well but I also don't love the beige+white combo.

With the black dress and skirt/top you could add a little bit of red somewhere - red cardi, or clutch, or beads - and some minimalist gold jewelry.

I think they look good with the dress and with the skinny pants.

I find the trouble with two-toned shoes, is that you feel limited in the rest of the outfit. That being said, wearing them with camel would work too - I'm picturing a camel pencil skirt. Go with a white shirt or top with just the shoes as a black accent, or add some other cool black accessory in the outfit. Ditto on camel and red, yellow or bright blue. Funky black bracelet, or black purse may bring in the shoes without looking too matchy-matchy.

I actually like all the outfits, except with the white pants.

I feel like you're limiting yourself to black though, and I don't think you have to!

I don't like the beige and white together either. Could you pair it with your skinny jeans (which you rock, by the way!) and a top with some color in it? I'm thinking maybe green or a dark fuchsia? The shoes and jeans are neutral enough so that you should be able to have some fun with your top.

I think they look fine with all outfits posted but if you seem so unsure as to need to try them with 10 diff outfits and ask opinions.. maybe they need to go back! if you don't feel confident in them, whats the point of what we think?

I think they all look good, though I suppose I see where people have a hard time with the white pants and beige shoes.

I also think these are very versatile shoes (I love the shoes BTW), and I agree that you don't have to limit yourself to black. They'd look awesome with red!

^^ I second the awesomeness of wearing them with a red dress plus a small black bag.

That sounds really cute!  I wasn't a fan of the shoes in alb's orginal post, but they are growing on me the more I see them with the right outfits.

thanks everyone!  i am actually thinking about returning them.  i like them but  i just don't have an outfit that i just love with them, and they're too different to just wear with anything (obviously).  i agree that they would look good with a red dress or something similar but i don't have anything like that and just don't feel like going out and buying something just for the shoes.

thanks so much for all the suggestions though - it definitely has helped me with my decision.

Totally understandable. Why struggle to make something "work" or complicate your life? That's why I no longer buy anything that isn't black, white, or gray...
