So what is going on w/ the Oprah baby thing? I hardly ever watch Oprah, but I overheard a lady talking about it in a store the other day. I followed her for a little bit trying to listen to what she was talking about, but I think she realized I was following her. I didn't want to creep her out too much.

From what I gathered Oprah and steadman have/had a baby and I guess Oprah said something like -I think Steadman and I have really damaged this child or something like that.

Does anyone have any idea what is going on?

One of the promos for the shows this week she says something like "steadman & i have a baby" - and the audience gasps - since it's sweeps weeks - no telling. Probably talking about their dogs

Well they definately have not had a child. I am 100% sure they are talking about a Pet of some kind.

She's talking about her dogs, I'm sure of it. Oprah has not had a baby but the promo is a great way for her to get people to watch.

in the promo for the Oprah show, she says Steadman and I have a daughter.....she does not say baby, so maybe it's an adopted daughter?  I do watch Oprah when I can, I will definitely have to check this out.

That's damn funny! Who hasn't done a thing like this every once in awhile? I've followed people in a store who were wearing something cool so I could try and figure out what brand it was... I love random stalking!

So i just saw the commercial again - here it is:

"I have a deep dark family secret. (to audience) Steadman & I have a daughter. She has issues & i think it's my fault. Only one man can help"

Episode is next monday, so i guess we will see.

i heard wendy williams talking about this the other day.  She said that Stedman has a daughter.  She didn't have too many details about it, who knows if it's even true.

I'm almost positive she's talking about her dog, Sophie. Do you remember a while ago she had a promo for a show that sounded really scary and you heard Oprah screaming... it was only about her getting her ears pierced. I'm sure the producers are just trying to hook viewers in for a lame show.

I saw this today too and thought the same thing about Dr. Phil. I too thought it might be an adopted child. It seemed like they showed Oprah and Steadman on the couch watching a video or something on TV.

I will definitely be watching next Monday!

I remember hearing a long time ago that stedman had a daughter too.  She's probably talking about her.  I thought Oprah and Stedman were over, when did he pop up all of a sudden?

I found out what this is all about.  There was an article in the Chicago Red Eye Newspaper today.  Here's what it says:


" Viewers anxious to meet Oprah Winfrey's "daugher" are in for a furry surprise.   The talk show queen caused a stir Monday with a TV Promo for an upcoming show in which she declared:  Steadman and I have a daugher.  She has issues, and I think it's my fault.  She left out one small detail - her daughter is her dog.  A spokewoman for Oprah tells the New York Daily News that Winfrey was referring to her black female cocker spaniel, Sophie - who will be receiving professional help on Monday's show from canine psychologist Cesar Millan, also known as "The Dog Whisperer."  Mystery solved."

Oprah was the last person I expected to stoop to those tactics to get viewers to tune in during sweeps month. That's pathetic.
