throughout the day?

Now that summer is here I'm thinking of starting to use a powder compact to touch up my face with in the day.

is there one you gals can recommend for acne? I don't have it bad....but if there's one that helps to prevent, that would be great.

I used to use Bobbi Browns years ago.....

I'd maybe consider blotting papers as well - I find that just touching up with a compact can look cakey and heavy by the afternoon, especially since many compact powders seem to discolor easily when they mix with sweat or oil.

I use a primer and then blot during the day. I use blotting papers, but in a pinch, I use those brown hand paper towels that come out of washroom dispenser. They actually work pretty well!

As does single-ply TP, in a pinch!

There was an article in Allure this month all about reducing shine, IIRC

Good to know.  Finally -  a useful purpose for those horrible paper towels!

I know this may seem strange, but instead of makeup powder, I use (sparingly!) cornstarch as a finishing powder. I have an extremely oily t-zone and this has been the only thing that has kept me shine free from 9 to 5.

I'm with the group - blotting papers.

When you keep applying any powder (more than 1-2x) it can get cakey and look obvious. Primer helps but I personally break out with alot of them. Switching up your makeup routine can help as well. Are you wearing foundation? what kind?

My T-zone is very oily, so, I used blotting tissues, but it makes me feel that they take away the make up as well.
I started using balancing moisturizer - for oily skin, to prevent shine & balance the skin, it's an Israeli product & cannot be bought in the stores, it's distributed to cosmetologists,  luckily I know one that sends me from Israel. But I"m sure there is something similar here on the market - when you do advanced search on Sephora - it gives you the products you're interested in.
But I found oil control powder - Estee Lauder ( it works!), foundation cream ( Clinique - also works for oil control). Now I tried Lancome powder - it's sheer & very light, you can barely notice it when you apply it , also doesn't show any sheen.

Blotting paper! My face is mostly an oil slick, except for around my chin and mouth, which is dry and peely, so I find that powder makes that dry part even worse. Blotting paper is my HG for getting rid of shine.

Go to the drugstore and get the Clean & Clear blotting papers.  They are like $5 and the best I've ever tried.
