My friend is going this weekend with her husband and her husband's boss to a baseball game (Texas Rangers).  They will be flying there on the company's private plane.

I told her that private plane = nicer clothes and that jeans and flip flops won't cut it.

WHat do you guys think she should wear?

Khaki skirt, linen pants?  flat gladiator sandals?

I would love any pics or links you guys might suggest!!!

Thanks in advance!!!!

Are they going straight from the plane to the game?

If not, I think a wrap dress and ballet flats would work. It's cute and comfy, and you can find those two things pretty cheap if it's something she doesn't already have (Target always seems to have wrap dresses). That's pretty much what I always wear on planes!

I never feel comfortable wearing dresses on planes.   She could also wear some nice pants, a semi dressy top and cute shoes.

Something like this:

Or if she's going right to the game, she could wear a dressier jersey material top and white pants or white jeans with flat metallic sandals.

If there is anyway possible, I would ask someone else what they are wearing.

Private plane may indeed mean nice clothes, or it could mean really nice jeans with a gorgeous top, jacket and gladiator sandals (especially if you are going directly to a game.)  Stars and heavy-hitters still tend to wear jeans to sporting events.

We just went to a cocktail reception in LA that specifically dictated cocktail attire (press and minor celebs in attendance)  and 90% of the guys were wearing jeans.

A cute maxi dress and sandals might be nice too

I like the idea of a cotton dress and sandals. The cotton dress with be comfortable on the plane, great in the heat during the baseball game, yet still casual enough to go the game and dressy enough for the plane.

She is a little scared of white pants b/c they are sitting on the 1st base line....seats might be dusty....

It will be 92 degrees so she didn't want to wear jeans that are thick and hot.

But will she look stupid in a dress at a baseball game?

she probably wouldn't look stupid, but it could come across as trying too hard, or inappropriately dressy.

what about preppy/classic/sporty? a polo dress and cute flats? a short sleeved shift and sandals? a sleeveless shift and sandals or flats?  I'm just thinking that it would be best to keep the look simple and or sporty if she doesn't want to wear jeans and a nice top...

I tend to agree with D. on a dress being "inappropriately dressy" but I really like the brown one you posted and the sandals too. Since it's a work thing for DH I assume she would want to be a good little soldier and keep it classic.

What about cropped skinny khakis, lightweight tank, white linen or cotton shirt?

I've been on a private plane several times, so i would do jeans, khakis or linen pants, nice top, and cute flat sandals.
She doesn't want to over due it!!! Or else she will be sending the message that this is the 1st time on a plane!!!

I agree with not overdressing... she'll feel awkward at the game if she does, and I don't think a private plane necessarily means dress up anyway

Thanks everyone!!

She went with cropped pants and a linen-ish blouse. She wanted a dress for the breezy-ness in the 90 degree heat...but after hearing your comments decided to tone it down.
