keep or return?

Maybe you guys can help me with this. My husband is ZERO help and I don't have anyone else to ask right now.

I bought these jeans today and while I think they're so cool, I really don't know how flattering they are. I'd pretty much given up on True Religion because the low, pointed pocket doesn't flatter me. I found these ones, and they still have the low pocket but it's not pointed so it doesn't end up being way down the back of my leg.

They bunch around the back of my knee (something I didn't notice when I tried them on), which kind of bothers me but I've seen this happen on other people with this kind of jean. The angle of the picture of the back of the pants is weird but it's pretty hard to twist around and take a picture of your own butt!

What do you guys think? Am I paranoid because my husband said they looked weird ("those look kinda odd but don't worry, I think it's the pockets, not your butt) or could I do better? I may be delusional because I really want to like these jeans.

ETA: Here's a different picture of the back, but it's still a way weird angle. My body is like all contorted.

My honest opinion is that those are not very flattering on you. They don't look awful or anything, but they are too long and make you look a little short legged. How tall are you? They seem super long! If you paid full price I'd say there is *definitely* a nicer jean to get for the $, and one that will look better on you. The Joey jeans are not the most versatile style in terms of who looks good in them...hth.

I know they're way too long. I'd definitely have them altered (I'm only 5'2).

You're right, I could do better for the money and I know it, otherwise I wouldn't even be asking for opinions.

I need to be taller with smaller thighs :( I hate that my biggest body flaws are things that I can do nothing about

Are you going to wear them with heels?  Cause that could make a difference in how they look.  If you're going to wear flats/tennis shoes then I vote return, but I'd like to see a pic with heels.

I agree that they don't look that bad, but they are not the most flattering.
I think they're fun and unique, but for the $, you could find something more flattering and just as cute.

are you going to wear them with heels? post a pic with the shoes you plan on wearing with them... heels can make ALL the difference in the way these look on you. i don't think i would keep them if you are planning on wearing flats with them though. i know you want to love them, (they are really great jeans!) but i think that there is a better pair of jeans out there for you to wear with flats.

tri sarah tops, have you tried on hudsons?  or joe's?  those brands look great on my best friend and she's 5'0.  and of course COH is great too, esp. the new gabrielle cut (no back pockets).  hth!

I think it's the length and the flare, not the pockets, that put these jeans in the return pile. Your but actually looks pretty good Sorry your hubby was so tactless, (I'm sure he didnt' mean it) but you handled it really well, too..,. He must be a keeper

they're alright, but the flare is kind of overwhelming you, and i'm not sure hemming will help since it might break the line. i too am cursed with thighs and have found james jeans to work well in terms of making them look slimmer (i also like diesels). if you really want true religions, i've found that with the rigid styles the pockets don't sit as low.

Thanks everyone. You guys are all totally right. I have jeans that work well for me (Salt Orchard St, 7 Dojo's and Joe's Socialite are among the best) but they're all pretty basic and I was looking for something fun. I'll keep digging around, I'm bound to find something eventually but I'm still pretty bummed that I can't wear most True Religion or Rock and Republic styles. But yeah, they're definitely going back; those cost waaaaay too much to not look fabulous!

I feel like the pocket placement is too low and it still drags down half your leg. I want to like them too, because they're cool, but I don't know who they would flatter.

I def. second esquiress' recommendation on the hudsons. I've tried on a few of their styles, including the flap pocket one, and they do fit very nicely. Also have you given the R&R Scorpions a try? I've always liked myself in them and I have a similar body to yours.

The long-butted!

I agree with the others.

Also, this is off-topic, but I love Salt Orchards and Dojos too, and now you've got me wondering about the Socialites....

I agree with lilykind about the placement of the pockets, that is what throws me off. They are placed too low for your body type. They look like fun jeans, but they would probably be flattering on "long butted" aliens. You can definetly do better for the money.
